I have been having weeks like this.
Lots of coffee not much water. Like maybe less than 0.5L at work.
Low or no protein breakfast
No or low protein snacks in front of the TV (basically just snacking shite for no reason)
My lunches are always good and my dinner is always good but the rest has been very sub par.
Just slipped back into that lazy comfortable way of life. I need to hold myself to a better standard than that.
Yep. I hear ya man. Same boat I reckon. Since coming back from holiday in the states I’ve really not held myself accountable at all…be better. All we can do.
Now till Christmas mate, it is time to be a grown up again.

Solid reps but legs have some soreness. But dizzy from holding the brace hard. Last set was really good.

A really good start to a new block. Surprised how good I felt. The usually pains here and there but blasted through the weights just like I should
Ok so going to take a leaf out of @SvenG book and put some simple goals for the week.
- 3 gym days as per the program
- 4 conditioning days
- 2 litres of water minimum every day
- Protein for breakfast every day (min 40g)
- Protein before bed every day
- No crap snacks at night
Mark Bell offers a great solution for this, and it’s something he got from a bodybuilding coach whose name I’ll never recall.
At night: all the egg whites you want. Unlimited egg whites.
There is SO much going on with that statement.
1: You hear “unlimited/as much as you want” and it just lights up the reptile part of your brain that goes “FEAST!” And in your mind you think “f**k yeah, I’ll CRUSH some egg whites”
2: Upon actual execution, you find out that egg whites are pretty boring, and once you go in for them, you get pretty tired of them. And, in turn, now you get to ask yourself the real hard question: am I HUNGRY, or am I just bored? If I’m hungry: I’ll keep eating these goddamn egg whites, but if I’m not hungry…why am I eating?
3: Let’s say you ARE that hungry: great. You’re “overeating” PURE protein. What’s the worse that could happen? Oh darn: I recover better. Pair that with all the cool articles we’ve recently seen about how you CAN’T overeat protein, how the thermogenic nature of protein means you might actually burn MORE calories by eating so much of it, etc etc, and it’s really just a net win.
I’ll say that, in a world where I was trying to fuel myself ideally for sleepy time recovery, I’d rather have a slower digesting protein paired with some sort of fat before bed, but as far as “winning the battle of the bulge”, egg whites just plain rock.
so here is a confession. I have never ever had just egg whites on their own. I have only ever eaten whole eggs. Not sure I could be bothered with the hassle of separating all the yokes out and buying in a carton just seems wrong to me.
You ever buy milk, or do you milk cows because just buying milk seems wrong? Haha.
Milk comes in bottles. LOL And I don’t leave it to separate so I can have just the whey or just the curd.

I survived 2 or 3 days on little more than egg whites not too long ago.

I love them. They mix well with protein powder, heavy cream, oats, etc.

I keep the low fat Greek yoghurt on hand. Buy it in the big tubs.
