Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes. @antiquity and @alex_uk no burpees or sandbags for me this year (51 sounds like too many to me, LOL), I’ll leave the self punishment to you. I did eat way too much food and had a nice evening with all the family around.

I had a realization yesterday that I am the eldest member of our extended family in Australia, my wife is the same age but a few months younger and her sister and husband is 5 years younger again, and obviously all their kids and ours are much younger . I guess that makes me the Grand Poobah. We had all the family together yesterday and I had never noticed before but it was clear by things that people said that they do look to me as the family elder. Any debates between members are often referred to me to make the overarching decision. Whilst I might sometimes be a bit old a grumpy it really is nice to have the family around me and made the day yesterday very special.
