Friday 21 Feb 25 - week 1

Squat - volume
Bar x 10
60 x 5
80 x 3.
100 x 2
120 x 8 x 3 sets - (264 lbs) RPE 5, 6, 6
Right sore lower lat was cramping up a bit again. All good though done beltless.

Bench press
Bar x 10 - warm ups have band around the wrists to force me to pull the shoulders apart.
60 x 5 - band
80 x 3 - band
90 x 1 - no band
95 x 6 x 4 sets - RPE 7, 8, 8, 8
These were ok. Still not where I want to be through.

Bent over row
85 x 6 x 3 sets
Only 6 reps on these. Deff pulled something in the rhs of my back. These hurt a fair bit when doing them and trying to straighten up after was not nice at all.

Lat pull downs
77 x 12 x 3 sets
Good reps.

Rolling tricep extension
15kg dumbells x 3 sets
15, 15, 12
Big boy pump on these.

Rotator cuff work
5 mins

Good session tonight, despite my sore back/.

Strongman Saturday

Despite my grumpy back from yesterday I decided that sandbag carry’s were a good idea today.

80KG (176lbs) bag
10 rounds going every second minutes.

Going to be hot today so did these in the morning. It was still 25c but that’s better than doing them later when it will be 35c.

140 x 6 - RPE 8 added 2 reps to the last set. These were very good.
Bloody good reps tonight, back held up well.

Bulgarians (weight is KG per hand)
37.5 x 3 sets - 8, 8, 8
Holy Fkn quad pump and lung burn.

Dumbell bench (88 lbs)
40 x 6 x 4 sets - smooth full stretch reps
So good. I am strong today.

Dips - BW +10kg - 3 sets
15, 12, 11
Hard work, great burn.

Dumbell row
47.5 x 12 x 3 sets -
Grip held well, no straps. Good.

Rotator cuff work

Absolutely cracking session tonight, was feeling strong everywhere. Pretty happy with that, can’t let @davemccright have all the gainz :grin:. Quality

Those dips after dumbell bench is really a great simple combination. I see so many kids in the gym messing around with cables and I always think just lift some heavy dumbells and do some dips. I am so old. LOL

I couldn’t agree more man! Bench and dips, rows and pull ups, squats and RDLs.. You just can’t beat those classic combos
