Off to The W today for their special Sunday brunch all you can eat buffet. 3 hours of eating and drinking should deff help with my road to 100 !!!
As in W seminyak?
If it is, I fucking love that place. Had a lay over there after coming back from the gilis
I think I put on like 10kg in 2 days hahaha
That’s the place big man. I’ll eat some for you too!!
Atta boy rip in!! Wedding planning at the moment and we are gunna have the honeymoon over there. Been there enough to know the place well enough like home now, when you’re back down in legian, head to a place on JL raya called “pad bar and grill”
Great for family’s, I would usually eat there like twice a day hahaha
Or bubblegumps, down near waterbom
You’re all making me want to go to an all you can eat place ![]()
We are staying in a villa in Seminyak near the square, very close to Mexicola. It’s. Very short walk to the W from here. We are going to Nusa Dua for a week from tomorrow so will see what’s good down there.
Ahhhhh mexicola, some very fond memories of there and the front curb. Turns out Jez and Galliano don’t mix well
yeah it was great, Great restaurants up there, about half a click east of the square there is a great Greek restaurant, can’t miss it. Typical white and blue paint job. Enjoy it mate, nusa dua will be great fun
Not a bad looking weapon either…
That looks amazing.
10th Oct - hotel gym deload
SLDL x 10
Row x 10
Clean and press x 10
Front squat x 10
Three rounds without rest with 15kg dumbells. Had to stop a couple of times on the last round because forearms were so pumped I was going to drop the bells.
Bench machine
Lots of sets, started at half the rack and kept going up a few holes at a time until I got to 2 from the end and did a set of 5.
Then decided to try the whole stack - got 5 reps
Then did a giant drop set all the way back down!!
OMG chest was burning
Lat pull downs - some
Dips - some
Hammer curls - Some
Lateral raises , bent lat raises, and curls - did three giant sets.
All done in 35 mins. Big body pump then walked back to the pool had a cold shower and relaxed in the water for an hour. Got a few weird looks walking back through the hotel with small black shorts on, no shirt (carrying it) and dripping with sweat. Maybe it was my imaginary lat syndrome!! Looking swole, lol!
That’s become how I feel with a shirt on vs when I don’t. It’s depressing.
So sitting here by the pool sweating out breakfast and last nights beer and thinking about love, life and lifting goals. My basic goal of staying strong and healthy for my family hasn’t changed but what next in terms of short to mid term goals.
Probably like all of you I want to do everything. I want to be big strong fast lean and handsome (scratch that last one, I’m not having cosmetic surgery).
I have given it some thought and the plan hasn’t really changed from what I have been doing all along. Either I got it right first up or I’m too set in my ways to change.
I have broken it down into three goals.
The first one is pretty simple, keep eating hard, gain some weight and hit 1 2 3 4. I’m pretty close with OH and Bench already ticked off, deadlift is at 165kg and squat at 135kg. So this first goal should be achievable by the end of this year.
The second is to take that new strength and to try to maintain or improve it whilst cutting some fat and re introducing some conditioning and some speed work. This will be 12 weeks and will start in January. I chose this time as it coincides with my parents coming to visit in April and it would be good not to be a slob when dad arrives. (44 and still trying to impress dad - issues not !!)
The third and even writing this one makes me a bit nervous (makes is more real). I am going to find a novice powerlifting comp, probably at PTC south melbourne and put up a number. I’ll be 45 in August so thinking a comp around my birthday would be good.
So there you have it, that’s almost 12 months planned out. I will try to increase to 3 training days a week sometime within this year. Kids, wife, work and life will determine how and when I fit that in. But I know once I decide to do it I’ll find a way.
All you that follow along, feel happy to chime in, give advice, council, keep me on the right path and share in my successes and failures along the way.
It’s always good to have a plan! I’m sure I’ll continue hanging around to watch your progress.
Do you have a specific weight at which you’d like to compete?
Hasn’t thought about weight for competing, I can either stay Lean and compete at 82.5 or add some bulk and compete at 90. I’ll see what my strength is like after cutting the fat back and decide then. I don’t want to have to do a cut to compete would rather not stress the weigh in and just put up a number.
Sounds like a plan! You’ll be lean and mean if you compete at 82.5
That’s a good plan Simo, I’ll be right behind you.
Thanks @mortdk it’s good to have a European contingent in here.
