Means a lot mate. Sometimes even though you are getting work done, you just know in your own head its not good enough. We set some pretty high standards for ourselves which can be tough to meet but the continuous strive to move forward is not negotiable. Its definitely made easier by having genuinely good people around you to, council, motivate, question, support and even make you smile. Salute.

working through similar atm mate, physio massage (and deepshock sound wave therapy), stretching, avoiding tricep work atm, plenty of light DB rehab movements (reverse wrist curls etc). Grip work (dead hangs etc).

Some of us have to watch the volume, overuse and recovery more than others… surely not age related

It is most likely age related but also years of abuse. I am left handed and played tennis competitively as a youngster, I dont think it is a coincidence that it is my left arm that hurts. These tendon issues are a little difficult to heal completely, it is more just a case of managing it. I have decided that I will increase the volume again and just deal with a little pain.

Friday 5th May - week 3

Pause tempo squat (really focused on staying tight and opening the hips) no sleeves
Bar x 10
60 x 5
90 x 3 x 3 sets (198 lbs)
Really nice tempo and really tight. Bracing that long on each rep was uncomfortable. These were excellent.

Bench press -
Bar x 10
60 x 5
80 x 3
100 x 4 x 3 sets (220 lbs) - RPE 8, 7, 8,
100 x 5. - RPE 9. 5 reps on the last set just because.
Solid reps with a pause. First set wasn’t tight enough but got better.

Pull ups - thick bar
3 sets
7 7 7
Lats really feeling these. Happy with these though.

Dumbell curls (alternating)
17.5 x 10 x 3 sets
Working on that massive arm pump.

And that is week 3 done and dusted. This was a really good training session week as far as the gym goes. Now just need to do some good strongman tomorrow and some conditioning on Sunday to finish it off with a bang.

Ok today was Saturday which means some sort of strongman conditioning. Now that burpees are back on the menu I decided to re-visit a workout that I love to hate. Thanks to @T3hPwnisher for this really bad idea.

Tower of Babel - sandbag squat with burpees.
Worked up to 8 reps and then back down. Had to pause for breath throughout this workout as I thought my lungs were going to leave my body.
I used my lighter 62kg (135lbs) for this session and boy am I glad I did. Just holding the sandbag whilst squatting gets my heart rate up so high I see stars.

Always appreciate the shout out, and glad to see that this protocol is still as brutal as ever!

I have been thinking of this for 3 weeks and living in fear of what I knew it would be like. First 3 rounds always feels OK and then it just gets worse and worse and worse. Thankyou

Sunday conditioning session .

I picked up some kettlebells yesterday, 1 x 12kg (26 lbs) and 2 x 16kg (35 lbs). I got them because I am going to start to do some training with my misses but they also give me more conditioning options.

Today I did a little circuit / complex with the 16kg kettlebell.

Deadlift x 5
Swing x 5
Thruster x 5
SLDL x 5

I did 20 rounds EMOM style. On the odd rounds I held a plank to the end of the minute on the even rounds I grabbed 10 seconds of air.

Good little circuit, worked up a nice sweat and got the heart pumping.

Monday 8th May - week 4

Squat
Bar x 10.
60 x 5
80 x 3
100 x 3 felt easy as they should
Sleeves on cause I am old
120 x 2
Added a belt for practice
140 x 4 x 5 sets (308 lbs) - RPE 7, 7, 6, 7, 8

Feeling. Heavy but very solid too.
Third set felt great. Kept the rest a little longer tonight because I wanted good rep throughout.
Got real hard real quick in the last set. Adding the 5th was a good wake up call.

Bulgarians
60 x 8 x 3 sets (30kg Dumbell each hand)
Breathing out of every Fkn hole in my body on these. Hot damn pump around the knee was intense. So painful just sitting still after.

Db bench
42.5 x 4 sets - 8, 8, 8
Superset with
Dumbell row (single arm) knee on a bench
42.5 x 4 sets - 8, 8 8
Called a stop at 3 sets. Kept seeing stars.

This was a very very good Monday night. I kept hallucinating on the way home. Kept thinking there were things in the road and either braking suddenly or steering around them. Luckily not many cars around and no coppers

Fkn Quality.

I haven’t seen much from @dagill2 for a while. I think he is too busy playing with his boulders or whatever that bouldering thing he does is !!

Solid lifts as you work back into things here mate, nice. Not so good to read this - migraine coming on or just overdoing things in this session?

Never get migraines. This was just me being tired and needing food. Came good after a big plate of chicken and pasta

Leg and glute doms from the mix of heavy squats and Bulgarians is a great reminder of how effective these movements are together.
