Friday 16th Sept - week 4
Squat
Bar x 10
70 x 5
90 x 3
110 x 2
130 x 2
140 x 2 x 3 sets
Kept these as doubles tonight. Legs were sore and this felt heavy. Reps were good depth and solid though

OH press
72.5 x 6 (160lbs). Last reps was a grinder maybe RPS 3
72.5 x 2 reps and barely got that. Dropped the weight back to 60kg (132lbs) and hit some triples
60 x 3
60 x 3
Very happy with my top set of 160lbs for 6 reps.

RDL
132.5 x 8 x 2 sets
132.5 x 8+. Took it to 10 reps
Hammies and back getting a proper workout here.

Pull ups
3 sets
5 5 5
Still something wrong with my left lat or tricep. Really sore at full stretch in the pull up.

Not great but not bad either. Very happy with that overhead press set.

Thanks sir. It is not a lift I have given too much focus and like any other lift, the more I do it, the better it gets.

Monday 19th Sept - deload

Deadlift
Bar x 10
70 x 5
110 x 2
140 x 2
160 x 2
180 x 2 (396 lbs)
Left it there. Need the deload

Db bench
47.5 x 4
50 x 4 (110 lbs)
50 x 5 (110 lbs)

SS
Db bench supported row
35 x 6 x 3 sets

I am so fkn happy with this. I haven’t touched a 50kg (110lbs) Dumbell in over 20 years. And back then I did maybe 1 or 2 bad reps with a spotter. Today I stood in front of the bench, bent down picked up the dumbells and slowly sat on the bench and put them on my thighs, took 2 breaths and then lay back and pushed them to the top. Then did 4 full reps with no spotter, then sat back up and placed the dumbells on the floor. Then I did it all again but for 5 reps. Bloody awesome.

Good little deload session, happy happy boy.

And a strong one at that. Manhandling 50’s like that is no joke. Sadly my gym doesn’t have heavy dumbbells but reading your text I’m getting the urge to try and (possibly incline) press 50’s.

Nice work!

Inclining 50’s is a step closer to being truly awesome and seated overhead press with them :joy:

I did do 3 x 8 @ 40,5 kg recently so I guess it’s not that far out of reach. If you want to see them in a seated press you’ll have to summon @strongmanvinny2 though

Sadly me too. If anything it was on IG.

Yes but when then it was a few weeks back. His brother still puts some stuff up

Wednesday 21st September- deload

Bench
Bar x 10
70 x 5
90 x 3
100 x 2
110 x 2
120 x 2
90 x 16 (198 lbs)
Worked up to a heavy-ish double and then dropped back and hit 1 pump set. 90 felt super light.

Bent row
90 x 3 sets of 8

Hammer curl
SS
Preacher machine
Did 3 sets with no rest as one giant pump set. This hurt !! @TrainForPain would have been proud.

Another good deload

I have been MIA for a few days so firstly sorry for not commenting on peoples posts. It was a deload week and I decided to actually take a few days and rest. It seems like it did the trick because I felt pretty good tonight.

Monday 26th September - week 1

Deadlift
Bar x 10
70 x 5
110 x 3
140 x 2
Belt on
165 x 4 x 3 sets (363 lbs) RPE 6, 7, 7
165 x 4+ stopped at 8 reps with maybe 2 very slow ones in the tank
This matches my rep PR but I think these reps were better.

Bulgarians
60 x 6 x 3 sets
These are terrible. LOL

Db bench
45 x 8 x 3 sets
SS
Bench supported row
32.5 x 8 x 3 sets
Felt very good to get sets of 8 with 45 (99lbs)

Good start to a new block. Was a little lazy last week and actually used some of my deload to rest. Seems like it was a good idea based on tonight’s performance.
