That’s why some of the reps were a little short in pulls and push ups. Just wanted to get some solid conditioning in without making the tendon worse. Feeling ok today so may have gotten away with it

Arms and chest have been sore all day. Haven’t had doms like this in quite a while. Legs are fine though so thats good.

Rest day today, spent the day relaxing with the family. It was a cold start around 5c but warmed up to a nice sunny autumn day. Took the kids and the pup to the dog park early to let him run off some steam. Rest of the day was spend either food prepping, cooking the Sunday roast or relaxing in the sun talking to friends whilst the kids played. Doms everywhere today but my lats and triceps are the worst. I haven’t had triceps this sore for years. I am blaming @ChongLordUno and @kleinhound thanks guys.

I just need to see how I balance it with the strength work. I have one eye on a powerlifting comp about 10 weeks away so it has to contribute to that not take from it. Post comp it will be game on for a big gainz period which can deff include lots more work.

Monday 31st May - week 2

Squat

Solid reps. The bar at the home gym feels a little stiffer but it still moves fine. Hit 2 extra reps for 6 on the last set and still had at least 2 more. Happy with that.

97.5 x 6 x 4 sets ( 215 lbs) RPE 8, 8, 8, 9
Smooth reps but shoulder still complaining. Did lots of pull aparts between sets to try and help the shoulder out a bit. Bar path on last set felt really good and shoulder didn’t really hurt. Nice

Good session in the shed tonight. Good to be able to chose my own music but not same atmosphere as the gym. Still more than good enough to get the job done. I am so very lucky I have a great mate next door with an awesome hone gym set up.

Jumped (well stepped cautiously) onto the scales after training tonight. Showing a little over 88kg, no wonder my work shirts are starting to get tight. Got to make sure I keep under 90kg for comp so may need to watch my food intake over the next 10 weeks.

Been really thinking about this a lot over night. I am starting to think that my bicep tendon / shoulder issue may be in part as a result of my bench technique. Will take some videos over the next week but hoping by focusing on bar path and tucking the elbows and using more lats I can help this.

So it looks like we are going into another week of lockdown, so I will be continuing my sessions in the home gym. Looks like I will get to pick my own music for a little bit longer.
