Simo - The Red Shoe Diaries (Part 1)

Its really not that great, they were supposed to be sets of 6 but I cut them to three good reps.

Oh that’s it, lets all pick on the little guy !! I actually have no idea how long my arms are but if they are in proportion to the rest of me then they aren’t going to be very long. LOL

70 x 5
110 x 3
140 x 3
165 x 4 x 5 sets - (363 lbs) RPE 6, 7, 7, 7, 8
Good reps tonight, hard work but not crazy. Lower back and glute / hammies were pumped after. 6 reps on the last set.

Oh press
Bar x 10
40 x 5
62.5 x 4 x 5 sets (138 lbs) - RPE 7, 7, 7, 7, 7
Pretty easy reps. Left shoulder still a little shitty, but ok.

Bench supported Db rows
30 x 8 x 4 sets - these were hard
SS
Inc Db bench
35 x 8 x 4 sets - not easy but happy with them.

Very very good session. One of my friends who used to train in the gym was back in there tonight. He is a pretty strong guy (767.5kg total at 110kg). Really good to catch up and just him being there gave me a couple more reps on deadlift.

Body was feeling pretty sore last night after deadlifts, lower back and hammies especially tight. I was really expecting to feel beat up today but actually I feel surprisingly good. I was a little stiff this morning but a 30 min walk with the dog freed everything up and now I feel OK. Its a rest day today anyway so other than a bit of walking I wont do too much.

Pull ups
BW+7.5kg
3 sets - 7, 7, 7

Prowler + 100kg
EMOM - 10
Got all 10 done tonight, thought my heart was going to burst out of my chest (alien style) on the last 2 reps.

Great session and a great end to this training block. This was a hard session to night especially the prowler. Trying to have a shower after was crazy. No matter what I did some part of my body went into spasms. Arms by the side, rear delts started, shrug up my shoulders traps and lats went off, put my hands in front like praying lower lats and back went off, moved my legs quads went crazy.

It would be close to 4 years now that I have cooked up a chilli each week and eaten it 2 meals a day every day at work. Someone asked me last week if it was hard to eat the same thing every day for 4 years. My reply was, not really the hard bit is being disciplined enough to be cooking it every week without fail.

This is my problem. I’ll make something great that actually includes vegetables. I’ll do it for like two weeks and then forget all about it until I see someone else mention it.

It looked like my kids managed to infect me with a cold over the weekend. Nose was running like a tap all day Saturday and a little on Sunday. Focused on eating a lot of food and kept warm but also mobile (did a lot of dog walking). Seems like I have blown most of it out and feeling almost back to normal today.

This week is a deload, which for those of you who haven’t been reading this log for a while usually means the weights are heavier but the total volume (sets/reps) are down. So the overall weight moved across the week will be lower. I just looked at the sheet from the coach and was a little nervous about tonight’s session. I wonder if I am the only person who looks at their deload week and thinks damn!!
