RPE 10 means you shat yourself and vomited after. Not from disgust but from exhaustion.
Managed to keep my pants clean ( this time)!!
What you and @Cyrrex do together is your own business !!!
9.5 at most then!
Haha this forum is harsh Simo gets pinned by 120kg bench and still doesn’t get to claim a 10RPE!
You know it mate. No one is giving you a break around here ![]()
RPE can be whatever I want it to be
Do some rolling on the ITB and some work on the medialis. Lots of folks get that pain from an imbalance/tightness across the knee. It’s like the ITB is too tight plus the vmo isn’t strong enough
After last nights crash and burn the coach told me to take the night off. Worked out week cause misses is in hospital and I have the kids. Spend a fun day with them and now relaxing. Hopefully will feel great tomorrow and ready to deadlift and make up for yesterday’s shit show.
RPE10 is like bigfoot, not even sure it exists.
All good mate?
I guess since it is “perceived”, then it must be solely in the eye of the beholder, no? My problem with trying to apply RPE is that I don’t know if I should be considering the average of the set, or the last rep, the last few reps, etcetera. I would no doubt overthink the whole thing, and everything would end up a 9 or a 10.
Just a small procedure that means an overnight stay nothing too bad.
The way I run RPE or I should say the way the coach tells me. Is that a 10 means I wouldn’t have been able to do another rep without a spotter or major form change like hitching a deadlift.
If sets feel on the easy side they get a 5-7, hard an 8-9 and you generally know when it’s a 10.
great work Simo, love the training lately?

Good lifting man.

Thanks mate. Little swollen and sore today but she is ok. Trying to make her stay still and rest is the hardest part ![]()
My little boy (7) came and trained with me today. While I was doing deadlifts he did some push ups, some pull ups (with a band) and some stone to shoulder with a 9kg slam ball. He was really good, listened to dad and worked up a little sweat. On my top set of deadlifts he was telling me one more dad. I added an extra to the program and did three reps and he still said afterwards ‘dad you should have done one more!!’ Lol
Also had him doing some rope work, rope attached to the top of the rack, then had him stand on a bar in the low position of rack and lean back wards, had Keep his legs straight and then walk his hanDs down the rope until he could touch the ground with one hand, the walk his hands back up again. He likes this one and did a whole load of reps.
Really like it when he comes to the gym and is actually interested in the training. Happy days
Little dude doesn’t understand the RPE 7 lifestyle.
Na he is all about the amrap mate
