Lol yer there is some progress in here but there also some silly too. ![]()
Toe is fine now didn’t really slow me down too much. Too much whiskey never leads to anything good!!
Been getting $3 a litre whiskey for the last 10 months. Went the day after I got home and bought a bottle of Jameson’s and some good cigars.
What the heck is $3 whiskey like ?
Called Andy Player, sells for p159, right at $3. Taste like they combined left over scotch, bourbon, and Irish whiskeys. Best can be said it’s cheap. Kinda grows on you.
Good enough to drink straight or do you add a mixer ?
Thursday 30th July week 4
Bench
Bar x 10
70 x 5
90 x 3
100 x 1
110 x 1

115 x 2 RPE 10
Was supposed to be 115 x 4, got three up on the first set but the fourth wasn’t there. Had to crawl out from under it. Reduced the reps on the other sets !! If straining under the bar gets you stronger then I must have got stronger tonight, lol!!
Squat
Bar x 10
70 x 5
90 x 3
110 x 2
125 x 6 x 4 sets ( 275 lbs) RPE 7, 8, 8, 9
These moved ok, made me feel better.
Row
87.5 x 8 x 5 sets
Not the best session. Felt ok going in but quickly realised I wasn’t too fresh. Got some work done and now on to the next session.
Vid of me crawling out of you want a laugh!!

Haha, I don’t mind telling you that I am laughing as I type this. Roll of Shame!
Absolutely me too, only because I’ve been there myself!
Those arms are low, looked hit or miss as to whether you could get out of that to me!
Yep I have to have them low because at the next height the bar sometimes make contact which really annoys me. Even though it’s low I just put it on my back and crawl out. I don’t fail that often so it’s no biggie!!
I may have had to do it once in my life, but I probably had the pins a smidge higher, because I never had to bail off the side of the bench.
Damn dude, when was the last time you missed a lift?
Safeties for the win! You looked much more graceful than I do in those situations.
I failed on Cgbp today at the gym, no safties, but was only 60kg so rolled it to my legs and stood up with it. Was thinking “thank god I didn’t have to get help and look a twat.” Forgot I hadn’t put collars on and one plate slid off, then the unbalanced bar and other plate crashed to the floor. Ended up looking like a massive twat.
My man, that is one of the worst (best) fail stories I ever heard.
It probably doesn’t seem like it but it does happen. I think I missed a Bench a few months back, and had to put it on the safeties. Last week I did the heavy bench sets as 3’s as I knew the fourth wouldn’t go up. I also missed the 3rd attempt on deadlift in May when I tested 1RM.
Why thank you I am blushing. No one has ever called me graceful before.
And that’s exactly why I don’t put collars on when benching alone. The old " just in case" I have to dump the plates beats the alternative.
Very wise.
Was feeling a little bummed about bench last night so decided to look back through the training logs to get some perceptive. Released today that I have only ever hit 115 for a single prior to last night. So two sets of 3 followed by 3 sets of 2 was actually pretty solid pressing for me. Every cloud has a silver lining !!
