And it goes beyond just protein synthesis. The average human body can only deal with so many total calories in one go, so extra goes to fat or gets shit out in a nightmarish fashion. Have heard 600 calories is average, but it probably varies a lot and people who lift are probably quite a bit higher.
Just dropping in to agree that is about 6-8 times longer than washing a car should take.
I get impatient when the gas station car wash takes more than 3 minutes. WHAT ARE WE CAVEMEN.
I tried washing my car once. Once.
@simo74 kudos on the strict T2B. They are tough. And dayum 60 kgs on the bulgarian, this is willpower and strength!
Plot twist: It’s a @guineapig. My mate had that in Peru btw. Wasn’t too bad but nothing he’d eat regularely.
My response was a dumbed down version of yours. 30-40 for optimal protein synthesis so there is really no need to go higher. Also given the average gym goer wouldn’t need much more than 200g a day then 40 into 5 meals fits nicely.
I do think through that if you eat in excess a lot is wasted. You made a comment that when you eat more carbs or fat that it isn’t passed through. I don’t agree with that. If the body stored every ounce of food we ate then we would get obese a lot quicker than we do. The body system of breaking down food and digesting it is not very efficient hence the amount of waste we pass each day.
We’ll have to agree to disagree. No one has said that 40g is optimal. We just know that 40 vs 20 is better. Again, no one has researched 40g vs 60g yet.
I’ve settled in to eating three to four meals a day so I aim for 50-60g per meal.
That’s fine J no one says we have to all do the same thing. My comments around the protein was made in response to the comment that they looked like tiny meals, when in fact they have nearly 50g of protein in each meal. It wasn’t a conversation about what is the best amount of food to eat.

That pulldown bar looks awesome man. I’ll need to get me one of those.
I get a real good squeeze with it in the lats.
I had one without the camber at a previous gym, and really liked it. There’s a similar one at my current gym, but it’s really wide grip and it just doesn’t feel the same.
I’ll drop my car by your place tomorrow morning.
Damn I hate washing cars. And I’ve got a car and a Chopper that I really should care about.
I only wish that was possible right now.

That’s very possible, maybe he should see a doc
Or we should call one for him, a mental one
