I find the two things that make me sore (sometimes really sore) are doing something new and dehydration. I used to use BCAAs to stop soreness, and it worked, but I’m not convinced it wasn’t the 2L of water I drank with it.
Usually I am pretty good. I get my water in pretty well when I work because I have a big water bottle on my desk and drink throughout the day. When I am at home at the weekends I tend to forget and then try to drink lots later in the day.
I don’t know if I would say seriously. I am feeling very beat up at the moment and I feel like with all the work I’ve done this year the actual muscle gain has been minimal. I wouldn’t go as much as vitamin S, but checking the T levels and seeing if TRT is available is an option. The other consideration is the peptide route. I have a friend who is getting some help and swears by it.
I doubt I’ll ever do anything but I do think about it.
When I lift, I drink probably 1-2 L while I’m lifting because if I don’t, I get serious DOMs, even on stuff I’ve done plenty. As always, you mileage may vary but it’s been such a cheap fix for me, especially now I don’t bother putting fancy BCAA powder in.
In terms of the T-levels, I’m as far from an expert on that as it’s possible to get. I also have zero experience of what a peak should feel like so I can’t make any sensible comment. In terms of your results though: whenever consistent, reliable progress comes up on this site, you’re literally the first name that comes to mind. In the year or so I’ve been following your progress, you’ve comfortably gone from “roughly similar strength wise” to several leagues ahead of me and someone to try and emulate and you haven’t needed any Deep Waters or Monoliths Built.
Thanks mate. I am pleased with how this year has gone and you are right about peak always feeling crap. I guess deep down I am still human and just want more. lol
Did I miss a conversation somewhere? What peptides is your friend taking and what’s it doing for him? I looked into some of those pretty extensively last year and even had my online cart filled. I just couldn’t justify the money at the time and I’m scared of jabbing myself with a needle.
I know someone who tried some GHRP-6 but didn’t bother with a second bottle. He didn’t notice anything from it. He bought it to boost his appetite but it didn’t. I think that’s one of those things that need to be taken for 3-6 months.
You need to spend more time in the pharma section, it either goes: this is amazing I’m getting lean and massive, but I can’t sleep and cough all the time, or: feel like I’m going to die, my wife hates me, I’m miserable and my penis is like a limolp noodle. Neither seem worth it haha.
No mate you didn’t miss anything, its not something I have spoken about before. With regards to what my friend is doing I can really answer that. We only discussed it briefly and at the time I didn’t want to delve into the details of what is treatment looks like. I will discuss it more with him sometime in the future but cant really do that until the gym opens back up. I dont know what it is like over there but here there are health / anti ageing clinics that will do consults and blood work and then lay out a treatment plan. Its not cheap and it would mean you couldn’t compete in a drug tested fed but its not illegal.
Peptides are legal here, but it’s not as clear about how they work. I’m pretty sure they all say “not for human consumption” but that’s just a legal thing. Sermorelin, ipamorelin, and a couple others are supposed to trick the body into releasing growth hormone naturally.
@jackolee knows more than I, but he went straight for the HGH with his ACL injury.
I’ve muted TRT and Pharma on here for myself a while ago. Not that I’m opposed in principle to their use for future me or anyone but couldn’t take all the teen YOLO first cycle and TRT + tren or some bullshit that’s meant to be the key to physical, emotional, social and spiritual health posts
Yup. Drug tested is no TRT for major powerlifting feds. Was an issue for about 5 mins because transgender peeps couldn’t compete because their policy is like u can’t use these things doesn’t matter if your levels are “normal”
Maybe if you don’t put transgender athlete in your social media profile, call out the USAPL with your buddies and sic the media on em u can fly under the radar but actually the protests seemed to last like a month or two then nada.
