Don’t know about females but most of our leaders are pussies, does that count!
haha it just might, if you’re doing things right down there, your neighbor NZ is doing pretty well.
On a training note, do you have some numbers to hit by the end of the peak?
Now that is a good question. I do have some numbers in mind for bench and squat, for deadlifts I don’t have enough weight so will do an amrap. The peak is 4 week with the test at the end of the 4th week, so 8th May.
Maybe you could see your gym and borrow a couple of plates.
what’s the max weight you have?
Max is 177.5 (inc bar). I would try to add a couple of 16kg kettle bells to the bar to get it over 200. I am not worried about borrowing weights, which I could do for 1 night quite easily. I will just hit an amrap with 177.5 and then try a max pull at a later date when the gyms open up again and I can compete. Doing a 1RM isn’t going to make me any stronger as such.
No but you’ve peaked, and your body should be primed to that 1RM attempt, I would get those plates, because then you’ve hit that weight once, the next time it’s not as intimidating.
Well an amrap with as 177 kg is impressive as it is and if you can pull 200 with a pair of KB hanging from the bar, that would be truely impressive
Maybe I’ll do both, amrap in peak week and then throw the kettlebells on in the deload for fun.

Hammies and glutes were very tight on these.

Good session but legs are trashed. Quad pump is seriously intense, legs are throbbing. Hammie and glutes are super super tight. Happy with bench, deff have a bit more in the tank.

That’s what we’ve been doing since this started. The school year is over so it’s up to parents to stimulate their kids so they don’t fall behind. I assume there are going to be a lot of kids who are behind next year thanks to lazy parents. It’s going to slow the whole school year down for a bit.
I’m completely making this up on my own, but I think this virus is going to die out for us and pick up for those of you going into winter. The flu is a virus and it’s seasonal so it makes sense to me that Covid will be the same.
I’ll loan u 2 kgs
2kgs !! At what price Lol
40 bucks current market value
nice videos Rob, solid all the way.
Thanks mate. I feel like I am in a good place although the body is really feeling the peak. I did 4 strength blocks in a row before this so the accumulation of fatigue is quite high. I am looking forward to a proper deload and restorative block after this.
You’ve deserved it Rob
So I pulled up surprisingly well today. Legs don’t feel too sore and most of the glute and hammie tightness is gone. I have a little deadlift, squat and bench tonight and then 2 days off. Feeling good about this peak but know the next 3 weeks are going to be tough.
It will probably do what you are suggesting to at least a degree. Much of the “seasonality” of the flu is simply that when the weather is cold, people tend to be in much closer proximity.
At the same time, C19 is undoubtedly more contagious than the ordinary flu (I don’t think the true Rx has been calculated, but it is way higher than R1), so it probably won’t go away completely in the warmer weather. We already know that some warmer climates have gotten hit pretty hard.
