Fat enough as it is. I eat plenty thanks.
whats the heaviest you’ve been? Do you even triple digit BW
Heaviest a few (more like 15) years ago was 95kg, currently 88kg but I am a little more fluffy now than I was 15years ago !!
Not a bad effort.
That was back when I did mostly bodybuilding training and I had to force feed myself for 2 years. I couldn’t do that again. ![]()

Wanted to link two vids. The first is from 30 August 2018. Here I am doing ugly singles at 130kg and 135kg

Fast forward 17 months and the second vid is from tonight where I did 5 sets of 4 reps with 130kg. I am really happy with this progress and this is with no special or optimal program just with consistent hard work.

Great job man! What was once a grinder really moved fast today
Thanks, I was pretty happy with how they went.
That’s some awesome progress man. Hard to see it day to day, but going back that far really shows how far you’ve come.
Sexy gains. What facility are u training out of there?
It’s a local warehouse type gym in Williamstown called Athleta 24/7. It has enough equipment for what I need and invest 24/7 access for $13 a week so it’s not to expensive. It’s not as sexy as PTC or Doherty’s but it does me well.
Doherty’s is 15 bucks a week but it’s a bit of a bother to drive there.
Great progress Rob. Really good. Strong fast reps.
That’s a big improvement
Yer for me it’s too far. 20-30 mins drive each way compared to 2 mins each way.
Thanks @mortdk and @MarkKO
It’s hard to know sometimes how well you are progressing. I have no frame of reference for what is good or not. And even if I could compare it doesn’t really mean anything as well all progress differently. Week to week it feels like really slow progress and often I feel like I should be doing more. Then on the other hand I think, I am progressing each block and I’m managing my recovery and staying injury free.
If I can do this again for the next 18 months then I will be happy.
I always find this irritating in threads/articles that say “in your first x months of proper lifting, you should be able to hit y numbers”, because I just think it’s too simplistic.
HUGE progress, awesome work Simo!
