Simo - The Red Shoe Diaries (Part 1)

Not sure what you mean here. I have a bench to put my rear foot on and a 27.5kg dumbell in each hand. No other equipment.

Can use barbell

Not when you have the balance of a 1 legged giraffe :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::joy:

I love my knee sleeves. Maybe they’re just deadening the sound, but I hear less pops and cracking sounds from my knees.

My favourite is SSB, just have to be careful not to drop it on your ankle.

If someone ever challenges you to a fight online you should send them the video of you nearly throwing the monolift out of the god damn window in a blind rage (this is totally how it happened)!

Thanks for that brand-new phobia, Mark.

It’s a well-founded one, definitely in my top three most painful things.

Woke at 87.7kg 193lbs
Had a terrible night last night. I often find it hard to sleep after training late. Combination of eating late and caffeine in the pre workout I am sure. My middle daughter (age 8) was having some breathing issues, I am sure all the smoke over Melbourne isn’t helping much. Had to give her some ventolin in the middle of the night. Then she wakes and calls me because she is having a nightmare. I tried to settle her but 15 mins later she comes into our room and asks to sleep with us. She hasn’t ever done this not even as a baby. I let her lay down next to me but I couldn’t sleep so after an hour I took her back to bed and spent 20 mins getting her to sleep. Got back to bed and then at 5am work calls me. I have a day off today so wasn’t happy about being woken up!!!
Day at home with the kids today, hopefully they will be good and today won’t be too stressful.
Legs are pretty sore today, chest feels fine though so already looking forward to heavy bench on Wednesday.

Unless the building was burning and you were the only one who knew where the fire distinguishers are, this is unacceptable!

Hopefully it was of some importance at least. I used to manage a gym for a little while as kind of a fill-in manager. Everyone was in my ears all day and it seemed like none of the employes were even attempting to think for themselves.
Peak was reached when I had a week of vacation and explicitly told everyone that unless the fucking building is on fire, they are not allowed to call me.
First evening of my week off a guy calls me to report that the most left TV in the cardio area didn’t work…

Unfortunately this is what comes when you are in charge. The manager who called me didn’t know I was off work today and I was silly enough to leave my phone on.

Thought this was a response to @j4gga2’s single leg training thread

Colour me confused

No me confuse. My last reply to that thread was something about SSB split squats so yeh

Now I am confused too. Let’s get back to normal. I have severe leg doms today. Ouch !!

Even though we are foreigners we know the words, just not how to spell them.
@mattjp thanks for the morning laugh. Hilarious.

Training related, nice workout yet again Simo, excellent.
You’re a good dad mate, then sleep doesn’t matter.

This is what it boils down to. She needed me so I was there. Nothing else matters. I can catch up on the sleep another day.

You’ve clearly not worked in retail. I’ve been in the room(/pub) when another area manager got a call from a colleague in one of their stores (2.5 hours drive away) because they couldn’t find scissors to cut some string with. I’ve also been in the room when that same AM got a call from a store manager who couldn’t find the light switch in a store she’d ran for 5 years. True stories. I don’t work for that company anymore.
