Lol yer literally!! ![]()
It feels like it’s been a looong weekend.
My daughters went to a Halloween party at the gymnastics gym on Saturday night. The gym called us saying my youngest girl didn’t feel well and wanted to come home. I drive down there to pick them up and my first thought was too many lollies. Turns out i was very wrong.
When I got her home she was very wheezy and struggling to breath. She is not asthmatic but we have an inhaler for her at home from when she had a chest infection. We have her some inhaler and this seemed to help a little and we put her to bed. We were up every few hours in the night giving her more inhaler and it wasn’t helping much.
Decided to take her to hospital on Sunday morning. Wife took her and I stayed home with the kids. They put her on oxygen and ventolin and admitted her straight away. She stayed in all day and we thought she might have to stay the night, as her vitals kept coming good but then going bad again.
Finally at 8:30pm they said she was good enough to go home so I drive to the hospital and picked them up.
She is home sleeping now but we have medicine to give her every 4 hours through the night.
Phew what a day.
What a day, Rob sorry to hear that. Hope she gets better quickly
Thanks Mort. I’m sure she’ll be fine now. The waiting and not knowing is the worse part. She is fast asleep and breathing well now like nothing happened.
I’m sorry to hear that, but I’m glad she’s doing ok now
Sorry to hear that, simo. I thank God frequently that I live in this age of modem medicine. I can’t imagine not being able to go to the doctor and get fast results and reassurances.
Glad to hear she’s doing better. Did they tell you what was wrong? Respiratory virus or something similar?
That’s rough man, but good to hear she is doing better. You have my sympathies.
British and English are not in any way interchangeable in this context. I’m 100% sure the rest of Britain would rather North Korea won than see the English get it.
And Yeah, tempo squats sound brutal enough to try. Maybe even tonight, do them as FSL.
I feel bad making flippant rugby comments now man.
Genuinely the worst feeling in the world when the little ones are I’ll and you don’t know what the matter is. I hope she recovers quickly.
I am sorry to hear that man. I have only had a couple of scares with my little ones and I know it isn’t fun.
Thanks guys, she seems all good now. She slept well last night other than when we woke her for medicine. She is having the day off school today to rest and back to normal tomorrow.
Don’t feel bad about that, there is always time for flippant rugby comments, especially when they involve mental images of the Scottish or Welsh actually supporting England !! ![]()
Glad to hear your daughter is okay. Scary shit for sure!
Going to be rushing around tonight. Son has a gymnastics class and daughter has double karate, so I am Mr Uber dad tonight. Will get in a little training session later once all the kids are done and home to bed.

Well, that sounded like it sucked. Glad your daughter is better.
Thanks @MarkKO, the worst bit is the waiting and not knowing and not getting second hand messages from the wife. It makes you feel very out of control which isn’t good for a control freak like me. She is much better now and we know how to manage it properly isn’t happens again, so that is a positive.

Good little session today. It still feels odd to be doing a session that isn’t powerlifting movement specific. Still felt good to be in the gym though.
So my back has been a little off for a few weeks now. Started somewhere in the prep for my comp, I managed it through the the comp and I was really hoping that during this restorative phase it would improve. Well it hasn’t improved much, its still basically sore all the time, worse in some positions than others and never really painful but its there.
I booked a appointment at the osteo for next Wednesday and hopefully her magic hands can straighten me out a little before I start the next volume phase.

So apparent having a few beers the night before, combined with little sleep and a 35c day is not the perfect recipe for being gym ready!!
This was a hard session tonight, he pause SSB sucked big time (@markko you were right).
Still got it done and now it’s the weekend. Yer baby!!
