Simo - The Red Shoe Diaries (Part 1)

This looks fun. Going to follow and learn

Thanks @cstan097 and welcome.

Good to see you popping in @bigpappafrance, not sure how much I can teach, but I’ll keep sharing my approach and hopefully you’ll find something interesting

If all else fails, people can learn about being consistent and focused here. No shiny eight week programs. No fancy terminology. Just the basics done consistently with effort over time.

LOL that sums it up very nicely, thankyou J.

I hope you didn’t take that as a negative statement (and I know you didn’t). I’m really trying to emulate facets of your training. There aren’t any good reasons to change exercises every 6-8 weeks. I’ve never conquered a lift.

I’m quoting this simply for emphasis, specifically the last sentence. A mentality many (read: myself) should live by.

Are you emphasising it for me or for you ? Or for any one else reading ?

Whoever needs to hear it. But yeah, mostly me, haha. Having skimmed your log and read about your 2-days-per-week style from days past, I don’t believe consistency is an issue for you!

Inspired by you, man!

Thats kind of you to say. I’m just here learning new things and trying hard like everyone else.

I agree with kd. You and a few other posters on here regularly remind me that the big basics, done consistently at submaximal weights work and will continue to work indefinitely. Everything else is just to keep me entertained.

Looking forward to see some new shiny movements around here Simo.

GHR, russian twists, DB bench, leg curl, lat raise, curl, DB row, leg press.

Exercises never seen in this log, have you become a program hopper

hahaha I’m cheering for All blacks and my best friend is Kiwi. And I’ve got a great Aussie friend as well, so it’s fun when we all together. Gonna watch the semis tomorrow, sorry for the mix up in my log. The Kiwi said it looked like they should meet the Aussies in the semi, but apparently not… But you don’t care about rugby and sports at all down under, you just read books hahahahaha … sorry couldn’t help. You guys will be back next year.

I think I’m gonna give him a call, 3 seconds down, 3 seconds pause, 3 seconds up.

I’ve been told that everybody is against England, except of course the british. Btw, just for you I’ll be cheering a bit for England tomorrow.

Very inspirational log you got here, and congrats with the meet.

Thanks buddy. And good to have you on here. If you have a current training log tag me in and if you don’t then what are you waiting for, start up a log, get some consistency going and reap the rewards.
