Yes just would have been more like one of your sessions!! Lol
Damn you’ve gotten stronger while I was away! Nice
Thanks man. I’ve just been slowly adding weight. Time is my friend.
I think these made my backside grow more than anything I’ve ever done. If you want to fill out your pants in a good way then keep at them!
I found myself feeling this way when I ran SGSS and had to do five sets of everything on leg day. One set at a time is the only way to do it. It can be overwhelming when you know you have 40 sets ahead of you.
You know it my friend you know it.
In regards to building a big rear, it is not something I need too much help with. My misses often tells me I could put a tray on mine and will comment how big my arse is when I walk in front of her. !!
Can you stop saying good things about Bulgarians please. Because I hate them and I don’t want to do them.
I have a pump that does this for me. Pretty cheap on Ebay
You and me both mate but I just force myself to do them anyway. You have to learn to love what you hate, or at least tolerate it enough to do it.
I actually prefer them over walking or reverse lunges. I think it’s because the set is shorter due to the decreased ROM.
I think you just love pain and need some help. Lol
Walking lunges suck so much more than you’d expect. I did the Paul Carter “shit-tonnes” of walking lunges program a while back (not sure I finished it) and it was humbling for sure.
@simo74 I will probably incorporate then into my program next time I have to write one. For now I reckon I get enough of an intro to one leg work from walking lunges.
Woke feeling like trash today. I was still buzzing from training last night so didn’t go to bed till late so not enough sleep last night. Fingers and wrist still bothering me but the rest of the body is OK other than some muscle tightness and soreness.
I watched an doco on the early crosssfit games called ‘every second counts’ last night. It was the 2008 games which I think is the second year. Its amazing to see how much this has progressed in 10 years. The event was held in a paddock in California somewhere and consisted of about 300 athletes which did 4 events. 3 event s on day 1 and 1 on day 2. Compare that to this years finals and its crazy.
I love watching the training footage from these films and seeing how hard the athletes push themselves in the event is pretty motivating (even if you have no desire to actually do crossfit).
spent a little time looking back over my training templates for the last 2 years and was suprised how much I have progressed. In November 17 i tried to squat 115 and managed 1.5 reps, according to the write up did 1 ok rep and got buried by the second, I also managed 2 reps with 142.5kg deadlift and was happy with it !!!
Last night for squats I managed 5 sets of 5 with 122.5kg with a little in the tank and this Friday will be 4 sets of 6 with 152.5kg in the deadlift.
If I keep this up then in 2 years time I might actually be strong for an old bloke, and if I keep it up for 5 years I should be a damn strong 50 year old.
That’s exactly what I love about training logs + the reason I take so many videos. So I can actually look back on my progress.
Same here. Sometimes I’ll get so down feeling and defeated and look back and realize that maybe I haven’t made any progress this eek or last week but there has still been progress towards the goal
Yeah, Something about seeing people give it 100 really motivates me too
Feeling pretty good today. Pecs, glutes and legs have some DOMS but nothing too bad. I am not afraid to go to the toilet so cant be bad. Lower back is a little sore but nothing feels out of place so pretty happy.
I dont have any training tonight, wife is going out with the girls so I get to watch TV on my own. That usually means an action movie or a strongman/powerlifting/crossfit doco.
Wednesdays are always an odd day for me because I am still tired from Mondays session but i’m also starting to get excited about the heavy bench session coming up tomorrow. I am taking this as a really good sign that i’m still in the sweet spot in terms of training and recovery.
Doing good Simo, you’ve come a long way. Smashing it.
Your training have been spot on for years now. It’s like Nutty’s program. Keep grinding steady and easy and in a couple of years you’ve become stronger.
Check out Mile 22. Best action/spy movie I’ve seen in years.
The new Tarantino, Once upon a time in … Hollywood.
Saw it a couple of weeks ago, that’s splendid. If you know the story of Charles Manson, otherwise you’re a bit in the deep end.
I feel like I was one of the very few people in the audience who actually knew about this. Everyone else had a big question mark above their head ![]()
