I’m similar, also in respect to taking days off work. I see no reason to suffer either, or to give my suffering to anyone else.
I’ve heard this line as well. “If you’re I’ll, you work, if you’re dead, you come in and prove it.”
I think this is underappreciated. Too many people try to power through and save their sick leave, but they don’t realize they’re infecting others.
Given that for most viruses you are infectious before you show symptoms, you have already done the damage before you think about having a day off!!
I kind of feel like I’m being an ass when I go to work all stuffed up and with a runny nose. Nothing like wiping your nose and then using the shared computer in the car, or touching the steering wheel, or the radio, or the mic…
I can totally understand that in your sort of job. In my work I can keep away from most people for a day or two if I need to.

I was squatting tonight next to a young Asian girl who had a very nice squat for her size. She’s either an Olympic lifter or crossfitter. She has a good amount of muscle and a nice snatch. During my 4th set of squats my bracing was a little off and I started to fold over a bit. Coming out of the whole on the 4th rep she cried out ‘chest up’. Woke me up big time and made me drive my back up into the bar. It moved up like someone was lifting it. She did it again on rep 5, same effect. I kindly thanked her for helping an old man out. She laughed and I felt 20 again !!

Wow tonight was a rude awakenings. When you deload and reset to a new block it all fella too easy. This week it suddenly got hard again. Really happy with it though, got all the reps, squats were deep and most of the bench was paused. Happy days.

Had a nice long soak in a hot bath tonight. Boy does it feel good. Back is a little sore today, hoping it’s just muscle pain. Nothing feels out of place just a bit stiff.
Have you tried WD40?
Whilst this seems a little odd, it has been widely used for arthritic pain since the 1990’s. I’m not sure i’m old and broken enough for this yet.
Not to mention the smell that you’ll never get off yourself

No real back soreness today so feeling pretty good. By the time Thursday comes around I find I am gagging to get back in the gym and train. Heavy bench day today with light squat and some accessories. This is an easier session compared to the others so i’m always excited to get in a train. ‘bring it on.’
