Simeon Panda - Swole

Just because someone plays basketball doesn’t mean they don’t lift.

I think I remember a guy named Phil who played basketball for a while.

Ok. That’s it. It’s time to get serious about training. I’m packing my bags and headed to the urban of urban areas, so I can get SWOLE BABY!
I already cancelled my gym membership and picked up a basketball.
Haha fuck yeah youre gonna get huge. Be careful not to abuse it though otherwise you will end up looking like Lamar Odom
I hung up one of those behind the door nerf hoops so now my entire bedroom is a basketball court. I’m getting jacked and ripped while I sleep.

Considering most people here think 200 pounds = steroids, I don’t see how that would help anything.

I think the point was not that basketball makes you big, but rather there are muscular guys out there whose physical activity consists of little more than playing sports (e.g., basketball).

Back when I was 19-20 I hung out with a guy that used to play basketball at Gerogia Southern. He lifted weights every once in a while when he felt like it which was MAYBE once a month. The only other thing he did was play rec ball. I lifted 5 times per week back then and he was still bigger than me and even stronger some lifts.

I was so jelly you would swear I had the Smucker’s logo tattooed on my ass.

Agreed.

One of the guys I went to junior high with tried to avoid lifting because he was already built by that age and didn’t like standing out because of it.

Obviously if 19" arms are an extreme rarity at your gym then obviously all of this would be alien to you.

I have a freak mate too. I bought a Captain of Crush no.2 gripper a while back thinking I could close it - I can’t. I had a few pals over drinking and just chilling out and someone found it so they were all having a go. We gave it to my mate Chopper and he closed it without even really trying.

He’s never lifted a weight in his life but has a rock solid 17" arm. I’m always trying to get him come train with me because I just know he’ll be a beast, but he’s just not interested.

some great advice here
I just added watermelon preworkout and koolaid periworkout

As long as the envelope is being pushed, a former roommate I had lifted probably once or twice a week, but generally only played basketball or did athletic training and drills, but easily benched over 300 a few times his first time trying after being encouraged by myself and another roommate to try anything over 275. He also ate once, maybe twice a day, which would generally be fried chicken/fish and a Jimmy John’s sub. Thought protein and anything beyond food was silly.

Yeah, he was black.

That being said, some people just don’t get the genetic pool that exists out in the “non internet” world.

everyone stronger than me is on roids! Stronger roids than the ones I use

I love how everyone “has a friend who ________.” lol

With that being said, I had a friend who as a 15 year old who had never touched a weight in his life hopped on the bench and replied 225x7 lol

He went on to play DE at West Point and was a monster.

LOL. There were people on this site when I first started posting telling everyone that it took steroids to get arms to 18". That attitude will always be there…because little guys will always feel inadequate when it comes to the gym.

Jealousy is a pain in the ass.

That being said I hope one day I get to the size where people think I might be on steroids. It’s almost a compliment.

I’m being serious…does this surprise you at all?

I know guys who look like that from mostly just playing basketball.
hahahahaha okay. so now theres black people out there that have a physique better than 95% of this forums from nothing but basketball, sounds legit.

Im surprised so many people don’t believe how powerful genetics are. My step brother squatted 500 lbs, benched 360 at 17 years old. If you haven’t seen with your own eyes someone effortlessly throw up 400+ lbs, especially at 17 years old, you probably won’t believe how powerful genetics are. It was just so easy for him. He took a couple year break from lifting and most physical activity other then normal day to day stuff and came back and did 5x10 at 225 lbs with ease at the bench press his first day back. I couldn’t believe it.

If I hadn’t been around him as a kid I wouldn’t have believed some people could just naturally be that much stronger and bigger then others. But people like him are just wired to be bigger/stronger.

I have no doubt there are people out there even more genetically gifted then him either. So while people here give X crap for saying theres black dudes in the ghetto looking like that guy, It’s pretty damn possible. No not EVERY guy is like that, but to say it’s impossible just means you haven’t seen a genetic freak with your own eyes.

EDIT: And by “that guy”, I don’t mean Simeon.

lmao…yeah, just take a look at all the diesel dudes in the NBA, right? gtfo…
? You know there are tons of dudes on basketball courts across the country NOT in the NBA?
The NBA is the cream of the crop of urban athletes, and there are maybe one or two guys on each squad who look like they lift…and all of them lift, have the best trainers and nutritionists etc.

You’ve now changed you argument from “I know guys with physiques like Hannibal who do nothing but play basketball” to “there are plenty of basketball players in Houston with physiques like Hannibal”, which isn’t even in the same realm in terms of meanings and is basically an admission of having exaggerated at best and flat out lied at worst.

For whatever reason, you are trying to make it seem like the “urban areas” are littered with dudes with superhuman physical gifts and natural builds, guys who don’t even have to try to be jacked and huge. I find it odd, consider you consistently tout the hard work and dedication it took for you to build your own physique. Were you just the weak link in your area?

I think the problem hear is people can’t get their heads around the fact that some people are the products of what is essentially large family breeding. I’m 6’2" 230 lbs with a massive bone structure and wide shoulders with visible abs (not cut by any means) while still being the second shortest and easily the smallest bone structure of the males in my extended family.

Other are the product of breeding that creates an awesome illusion.

Lets say you get both. Now he’s instantly on drugs once he trains for a couple years and sees his potential

Just get over the fact that your not several standard deviations towards the right and make the best of what you got. You most likely have the real estate to build a truly magnificent physique. Stop whining about others who are blessed and get on that, then come back and argue who’s on drugs, who isn’t
