Sigh of Relief - Total Troop Withdrawal

The war in Iraq is over.

Obama announces total Iraq troop withdrawal

http://news.yahoo.com/obama-announces-total-iraq-troop-withdrawal-165635034.html

You mean the war in New Iran?

^ actually US civil engineering companies earned billions of dollars building compounds and infrastructure and American companies are leasing the equipment in many cases. But we don’t own the oil itself, this is true.

Yippee!

Yeah! We rid that country of weapons of mass de… (uh…)

We took out that Hussein guy who was responsible for 9/… (uh…) …Ok well, at the very least he didn’t seem to mind that it happened.

…wait…why are we leaving? You know, we really could use that oil…

We went to War in Iraq because when the tech bubble burst, Hussein was threatening to tip the balance of OPEC towards a EURO standard for Oil instead of the USD standard.

Also, Obama didn’t announce shit. The headline should be, “Obama Fails to extend Iraqi Troop Presence”.

No, headline should read ‘Obama successfully followed Bush’s last timetable when negotiations failed with the Iraqi government.’ but, that wont ever happen since Obama and the media only mention Bush to blame him for the economy…three years in.

I took your post as a slam against the US. In other words ridiculing America for going into Iraq because of:

  1. Weapons of mass destruction

  2. Hussein supposedly in on 9/11

The FACTS are we did it because of:

  1. It was a continuation of the Gulf War started unilaterally by Iraq with the invasion of Kuwait and the threat to do the same to Saudi Arabia

  2. Hussein being a belligerent thug who DID

a) support and harbor Islamist terrorists
b) radically disrupt and threaten world oil supplies

  1. the attempted assassination of GHW Bush

  2. Repeated, blatant treaty violations signed at the conclusion of combat in Gulf War

AND

  1. the worldwide consensus that WMD were present.

Totally!

Maybe in 40 years or so there will be a second hand market propped up by people who revel in their nations former glory.

Na, this never has or possibly could happen.

Surely your grandpappy, Navajo Werner, musta bestowed one his scrap medals in your care, eh?[/quote]

They kind of went missing with him.

Which tells you all there is to know about medals.

Maybe the Bush administration should have done that too?

Strategic blunder. Anyway, CIA mercenaries(Blackwater aka ‘Xe Services’) will remain to ‘train’ the Iranians…ah I mean Iraqis and help the marines protect the embassies. We’ll see how that turns out. I’m guessing you fellas aren’t going anywhere.

Nah, I think it was cool to blame it on Austin Powers.
