Side Eeffects of AAS and HGH...

This is a biological question, based on the online research I’ve been doing: HGH use often promotes the growth of the jaw and brow, leading to acromegaly-like conditions.

I wonder if it’s more than just the HGH; could it be the AAS too? Since those particular bones are especially sensitive to androgens, could it be the combination of AAS and HGH that promote bone growth?

Could this theoretically be possible? I mean, every big bodybuilder has a strong jaw and brow; maybe those got bigger over the course of training.

Do you see any classic bodybuilder with the huge brow and jaw bone even though they downed Dbol like it was candy? As soon as bodybuilders started taking HGH, what you just mentioned started happening as well as the disdented HGH Gut.

I believe you are right though about those bones being sensitive to androgens. I think I read that once you begin the ending stages of puberty, your test levels skyrocket for a few months, and during this time, your facial features begin to change, specifically within the jaw and brow.

I haven’t noticed any acromegaly among the classic bodybuilders, however, every guy competing had stereotypically masculine features, i.e. strong jaw and brow. Nobody looked like Tobey Maguire from the neck up. I wonder if it’s that naturally high-T men are drawn to bodybuilding, or if bodybuilding, especially w/ AAS, has an influence on your overall appearance besides muscle.

I read an article which discovered that facial bones continue to grow and change shape into old age, especially the forehead and chin, while the cheekbones recede. Old age isn’t just about loss, but gain too. This is especially true for women, perhaps because they have higher testosterone levels after menopause.

i dont know shit about pharmacology or medical jargon. But i have taken anabolics since i was 18 and i’m 33 now. I have also used hgh quite a few times one time for two straight years. I still look the same. I don’t look like a caveman, relax and dont be so paranoid.

Hey bushidobadboy,

You said that androgens will “complete” the masculinization of the facial structure; in another thread, you said you saw this in yourself at age 28. That seems like a nice side effect. What dosage did you take (would you see an effect from a relatively low dose, say 200-300 mg of testosterone per week)? I may consider a cycle or two after at least a year or two (do you think age matters in this? I’ll be in my early 30s by then). Thanks.

AAS have left me looking exactly the same-I’m quite ‘baby faced’ and wouldn’t mind a bit of a jaw and some cheekbones-but alas they continue to evade me…

I could see it working; there probably would be minimal bone growth, but the facial contours might change. It will probably be 2 years before I consider trying testosterone, but I’d like to know what bushidobadboy has to say about his dosages when he saw these changes. Just curious.

Anyway, BBB, thanks for the reply. It gives me something to look forward to in the coming years.
