You never know until you try it. I feel my deads are great until it starts feeling seriously heavy. Then my lower back rounds. My deads flew up for the first few months, and now the weight is heavier [mind you, I’m only 160lbs] I’ve stalled and I need to find my weak links and kill them.
Give it a go and see how much progress you can make. Deadlifts are the best lift imo.
Also, maybe try your hand at olympic lifts… I’m starting to love these better than deads cause the day after I hit them the best I can I can feel just how hard it hits most of your body!

Everyone realizes this IS the internet right? I remember when I first started having internet “altercations” back when I was playing duke nukem 3d. Everyone and their father was Dutch from Predator, with years and years of elite covert ops experience under their belt with 1,000 confirmed kills and could hack into the FBI database looking up your address just with your user name.
They would then come and assassinate your entire family while you slept and get away with it because not only could they bench, squat, dead: 450, 525, 575, but they were light as a fuckin feather on their toes. All of this even though their voices suggested they were about 14.
After that day, I never took anyone over the internet I didn’t know seriously again, even with pictures. I suggest everyone else do the same.
Absolutely awesome - so true. If there ever was a place for a million losers to be full of shit, it’s the Internet…
If you lift regularly and fairly hard, You probably have the strength to do a 2bw deadlift within a month of training. The problem for powerlifters is they have judges to say if the quality of the lift passes.
2x bwt DL in one month? LOL. What are you putting in your cheerios? By the way, the DL is not a terribly technical lift to judge like the squat or bench. The very few key issues are no hitching, lock out, and lower on command under relative control. It’s not a terribly technical lift to judge. So unless you’re deadlifting like that kid was here years ago (forget his name; was training for PL and strongman and had some of the scariest deadlift form ever witnessed in this forum), the deadlift is pretty straight forward. And I don’t think you can add 100 lbs in one month under any reasonable scenario.

You can’t be talking about the one and only “DeezWeez” DieselWeasel could you!!! He was on the creatine you know…

LMFAO…yes! What ever happened to dude? I give him an A for effort. He was game. But every one of his vids made me cringe. Did he drop off the earth or is he in traction somewhere? What ever happened to the Deez???

He posted some updates a few months ago under a new user name. Here’s the video of his meet from back then:
Kid has a decent deadlift. His bench attempts were way too conservative and god only knows whats going on with his squat - looking at the footage you’d think his low back was the relative weak link but with his DL, I tend to doubt it. It’s puzzling. His squat looks terrible. I give him credit though. He’s come a long way and I respect anyone with the balls to take their “gym” lifts to a competition and put your ass and ego on the line. Good for him.

No shit. I remember the debacle that was his first DL video on here. The kid got flamed like none other on here, but he listened and turned it around. Good for him.
Sorry OP I couldnt post for the last two days as I was in the poconos partying (not too much tho!). I know you didnt miss me OP cuz you were probably out trying to pick up homeless chicks again, telling them you have shelter and water, or whatever you said you did to try and pick her up. Anyway, I wouldnt tell Bodyguard to come down and give him my cell if i were going to ditch him. I actually love when I have a workout partner.
The “close to” 350 meant 335…but i can def do 350 and have on different occasions because of people not believing it for my size. A couple of ballys employees didnt believe me so i did it for them. I dont lift to be a competitive bodybuilder, so i dont want to be any bigger than I am but i do like to lift heavy. That is why my bench is still high and i deadlift heavy (heavy for me is working my way up to 400).
Now, I dont squat heavy anymore because of what my agent said about having big quads. My quads take precident over glutes when I squat so my posterial chain lacked far behind my quads and it didnt look right (doing underwear modeling). I have done 400 for squats and thats why i said i could. Its funny we’re on a hardcore lifting site but people are questioned if they say they are hardcore lifters.
And Yes, I did call the big bellied lifters fat and undisciplined…but look at mariuz pudgenowski (?) and tell me you cant have both. Everyone go read the “pretty muscle” article with john the model/trainer. His physique is similar to mine except im taller by about 2-3 inches at about the same weight. (he’s 5’8). The invite to lift is open to anyone in the philly region and i will pm my cell to legit people who like to workout (la fitness members only i guess, no longer have a ballys membership). I welcome the hating/flaming…and to prove it im going to switch my guido pic with an even more douchie one.
Oh and fuck any grammer/punctuation gestapo’s here because i couldnt give any less of a shit.
