The season is getting a lot better in my opinion. I have a question about last night’s episode. Dexter said Miguel had been using him from the beginning. How did Miguel know to use Dexter from the beginning?

Does the next episode air tomorrow and is it episode 6 or 7? I’m getting 5 right now and want to know if that puts me up to date.
I must say I don’t care for the whole making Dexter have feelings angle. I really hate the baby thing too. It feels like they’re softening him up too much which was not what made this a good show.
I think the whole ‘feelings’ angle is to setup Dexter future rage over Miguel. In the last show, it was revealed that Miguel may have used and lied to him from the beginning. Dexter seem to realized that Miguel could be even a bigger monster than he himself is.

I don’t think that Miguel knew to use Dexter, but Miguel said and did things (ex. the bloody shirt) to show that Dexter had the upper hand and Dexter could trust him. Miguel knew that Dexter was some sort of killer the night that Freebo died.
Miguel played Dexter well enough to get his trust, but when Dexter figured out his lies and seeing him for what he really is. Miguel only problem is that he thinks he is smarter than Dexter and doesn’t really know how big of a monster Dexter really is.

Yeah, my son said Miguel operated on a hunch. After he knew Dexter killed Freebo, he mentioned the guy on the boat who Dexter subsequently killed. I was thinking Miguel gave Dexter the shirt right after the Freebo thing, but a bit of time had already past before Miguel gave him the shirt.
I doubt Miguel is going to make it into episode 10…
The newest ep was fantastic. I was waiting for Miguel to do something stupid. It seems that Dexter will be like more of his old self now that he realizes what Miguel is about. Cool, calm, icy-clean killer congenial Dexter. Obviously he’s gonna take him out.
I’m thinking Miguel might be involved in the skinner business as well, as Dex’s buddies at the station are usually involved in what he’s involved in, and I don’t really give a shit about the skinner plotline at this point, so I hope they converge soon. If they aren’t involved, I don’t see why anyone would really care.
I have to agree that this season hasn’t been as good and 1st and 2nd season. To me, it seems that they are trying to setup Dexter so that they can bring him back to his old ways. This season seem to be about him trying to be “normal” by having a kid, marriage, and even getting himself a few friend.
My thoughts are that its all a setup for the next season. Seems like they wanted Dexter to feel like he can have a normal life, but when he tries, he gets betrayed. I think when the season ends we will be seeing the old Dexter, the one that loves to hunt and kill. We need to see the rage again, he hasn’t shown that this season.

incredibly sick of this show. First season was great, 2nd season felt like rehash, this is super duper rehash.
“oooh here i am doing normal family stuff…BUT I DON’T GET WHAT IT MEANS BECAUSE I’M A VIOLENT SOCIOPATH”. OK. We get it already. Shit.
Two thoughts –
don’t watch it anymore.
I think that one of the strengths of the show is the whole, “let’s get inside the head of the serial killer thing.” If he just ran around like Freddy Krueger or Jason Voorhees slaughtering people, it wouldn’t have the same appeal.

I concur on all points.
Has anyone read the novels? I read the first and was rather disappointed.

I agree about Miguel being involved with skinner. The interrogation room scene was a sign.
The ending of the latest episode was probably my favorite moment of Dexter. So funny haha.
i think the main thing lacking in this season that existed last season is dukes. the tension between dexter and dukes was constant. i also felt like dexter was about to get caught every episode last season.
I hadn’t thought about Miguel having not luck in the interrogation room and turning the camera off to boot. It would then make sense for him to be involved with the killer, but why?
Off-subject: I think it’s somewhat likely and would be a great twist if Dexter’s kid was a girl. Would she be like her dad… thoughts?

I think the whole Prado crew, not just Oscar, was doing business with Freebo and the Skinner was merely their enforcer.
You’re probably right about all the Prado’s doing business with Freebo, but the skinner said he loaned money to Freebo and that’s why he’s trying to find him.
I think the final 3 shows will be intersting. I think after the betrayal of their friendship, we will see a darker side of Dexter and possibly see the most gruesome killing of Miguel. Dexter will show him what happens to someone who betrays him.
