Showtime's Dexter

Tonight’s episode was great. I wonder how he will narrowly escape this situation. I’d be willing to bet that Deb comes to the rescue.

They ruined it, though, by saying something about next season already.

I’m impressed with Doug Adams - calling the Miguel / skinner connection. I didn’t see that coming. I think Miguel is going to go down hard…

I wouldn’t bet against a cliffhanger ending where they pick up on the story next season.

On one hand it sucks that they already mentioned next season, but I’m excited to hear there will be at least one more year of Dexter kicking ass.

I hope they don’t end with a cliff hanger, that would just be annoying

I don’t know what will happen, I really don’t want a cliffhanger, they always seem to resolved the season with some sort of ending, never a cliffhanger.

I think that Dexter will find a way to escape and the skinner goes after Miguel and kills him for Dexter and then the cops, most likely Deb kills the skinner when they catch up to him.

If you notice, LaGuerta is starting to put the clues together after Miguel left her house and she notice the high beams and the black suv he drives, so she may in fact help capture Miguel in killing Ellen, or Dexter may find a way to put more clues out for her and that could be a part of next season show.

Season three, while different in tone and pace is still rock solid in my opinion.

You know what I consider the most absurd thing about the series (although it didn’t happen for a long time)?
Dexter is the super cautious, genius killer, but apparently never seems to turn off his damn cellphone when “at work”.
yes I’ll come to your place asap, I’m just having… a little project on my hands right now…

And yeah, I’m really torn between this family theme. An evolving character is great, but Dexter changing diapers an hour before going to hunt is a bit cheesy, aka “american serial hero”.

Ah, whatever, show rocks!

Good points! He did, however, turn off his phone the day he got the guy on the boat…

The time he turns off his cell phone, Rita has the problems with the baby. He keeps his cell on due to the fact that if the cops call him, he knows what is going on and he can’t always be out of touch when he does his killings, it will be too suspicious to everyone. Him turning off his cell was the first clue to Miguel that Dexter is more than just a nice good guy.

When did they mention next season? You guys don’t watch the teaser during the credits, do you? I turn that shit off immediately.

Mute button/channel switch kills that shit good ‘n’ dead.

I am only half way through season 2 at the moment. But god damn this show has potential. I just hope they don’t try to drag it out forever adding silly twist after twist. Ive been hoping for it all to start falling to pieces the law catching on more, and dexter frantically killing his way out of control. Family “ties” getting cut, etc. Then possibly a man hunt where dexter see’s imminent capture and possibly a nice blood soaked spree when the rules goto hell and no responsibilities to hold him down… Getting fired, interrogations, killing while on bail. Budget killing after disposable plastic wrap must start getting expensive at some point.

You know the good stuff. There is only so much escaping the law one criminal can have. The evidence doesn’t go away. suspicions don’t go away… lets not get too fantastical.

Don’t read this thread Beatnik. There are a ton of spoilers.

Not sure what your display pic means, but are you a fan of Burn Notice? Thats a good show as well.

Ya man, Burn Notice is great. I’d say Dexter is my favorite show on TV, and Burn Notice is my 2nd favorite.

Yes, Burn Notice is nice.

There were some pretty good series made in the last few years. Rome, Firefly, Deadwood, to name a couple.

You Dexter guys have any recommendations to share? Only a few make it to Europe, usually a year or two after they’re canceled in the US.

Dexter, The Shield, Life (nbc), Chuck (nbc) The Cleaner (a&e) I also like Bones on fox.

You could watch pretty much all of them via internet or go to a DVD rental store (or whatever you call that). I’m curious about new suggestions too… I’m not much of a series-addict, only really liked Rome and Dexter so far…

Watch the Wire. You will not be disappointed. Puts every show I’ve ever seen to shame.

Dexter is turning out to be the craziest shit still airing this year. I am very disappointed in other shows (prison break, heroes).

To the guy watching bones:
Bones needs to fuck booth NOW, shit is getting out of control.

No shit, I think they will hook up sometime this season.

I wouldn’t mind hooking up with her, she is hot and has a fantastic body too.

Dexter was a great show tonight, I sure as hell didn’t see that coming. The final show looks to be promising and I can’t wait to see what happens, I hope that prick Ramon will die. Seems like he messes up badly and will be next to die.
