Showtime's Dexter

I think Doakes get’s pinned for the murders or is at least the prime suspect. Here is the scenario.

The fingers start to point towards Doakes.

Dexter kills him and then frames him using the blood samples that Doakes removed from Dexters apartment or Dex let’s him go to jail. He gets real careful about disposal moving forward.

Lila doesn’t last until the end of the season. He’s back with Rita by the last episode this season.

God, I hope not. Rita is soooo fucking annoying, and the sex with her must’ve been SO boring. Vanilla. Blah. :frowning:

I can’t see Dexter framing Doakes right now. Doakes isn’t actually that bad of a guy. He’s a tough cop with rightful suspicions about Dexter.

Lila is dead for sure though haha.

He’s also got a fairly sordid history in special ops. It has been alluded to on more than one occasion that some of the stuff he did while in the military was pretty damn heinous.

The books go into a lot more detail, but suffice it to say that Doakes and Dexter aren’t all that different.

He was a support character on a show with a lot of supporting players. He has had a big subplot recently and that seems to be coming to a head. That’s why I think he gets pinned as the butcher. Or I could be completely wrong.

Just finished S02E07 and I can’t figure out the significance of the light bulb being fixed at the end of the episode. After Lila burned her place down Dexter stares at the light and the camera looks at it for a while. WTF?

Busting her landlords light bulb was her way of manipulating him into fixing her light bulb. Now she destroyed her apartment to manipulate dexter into leaving rita and staying with her. She even asks him to promise he will never leave her when he shows up. He sees the pattern and is apparantly starting to realize that she is manipulating him.

I thought the message was a way for her to get him away from Rita.

Her destroying her apartment was her way of clinging to him.

My fears were realized last night. When they had the quick shot of Lundy getting out of bed I thought “oh please for the love of god don’t…”, and there it was.

Old man butt.

I actually thought about changing the channel for a good minute or two. Good thing I didn’t, because the rest of the episode was awesome.

Doakes got pinned for it and provided a convenient cover for Dex. Now the fun begins. Dex has Doakes in some sort of cage. Perhaps he gets rid of the body and let’s the evidence point towards Doakes…thus ending Lundy’s investigation.

The suspense is driving me crazy! I can’t wait to see the interaction between Doakes and Dexter.

That episode was awesome.

I’m glad that they completed the season (or season?) before the writers went on strike.

I’d be willing to bet he lets Doakes go.

Ha ha ha! NOW the conversation is getting somewhere! God, that woman is touchy feely. She always looks ready to break down and cry. Oh, and what is with the flat-chested gals on this show? The only female character with real boobs is LaGuerta, I’m afraid, and I just can’t. I won’t. I wouldn’t, ever.

No way does Dexter let Doakes take the fall…I think Lila will kill Doakes. I think Dexter killing an innocent would be bad for the show.

Or Dexter learns some of the details about Doakes ‘black ops’ career. In the books, the Doakes character had a pretty sordid past and could be considered a murderer. That past has been hinted at in the TV show, but they haven’t really delved into it … yet.

Kind of makes it odd how easily Dex took him out, don’t you think?

Dexter took a jiu jitsu class in college. Obviously that more than makes up for all the elite training Doakes got, in TV land that is.

Hmmm…that would be pretty damn juicy. You’re probably right, the writers have captured our attention with the “black ops” stuff, it would be silly for them to just let the subject drop.

BTW, I “WTF’d” too when I saw how easily Dexter took out Doakes, too. Harry must have taught him some really fucking crazy combat technique (remember that scene from a past episode when Dexter was finally able to creep up on him and get him in some kind of stranglehold?)

Must have been crappy jiu jitsu judging by the choke he put on the copycat killer.

Poor Angel.

He’s being set up for a bogus rape charge. Lila’s got his DNA in her cooch and roofies in her bloodstream. I guarantee she’ll be screaming ‘rape’ when she wakes up in the hospital.

Yeah, poor Angel. Stabbed in season 1 and set up in season 2. Lila makes dating Rita look good.

I am curious how everything will happen with Doakes!
