Showtime's Dexter

The ending was amazing, perfect way to finish it. Now we’re all on the edge of our seats for season 5… Wondering how the fuck Dexter is going to manage and what direction the show is going to take. Gotta wait until next summer before a teaser hits.

Season 4 was a fucking masterpiece. Some of the best television I have ever seen.

SPOILER ALERT**

I just watched it. That ending caught me way off guard. My eyes got REALLY wide when I saw Dexter’s baby sitting in blood exactly the way Dexter did, in his own mothers blood.

If only Dexter had know about this before he got his hands on Trinity.

SPILER ALERT*

Spoiler****

He has to cut her up and dispose of the body now, doesn’t he? To much suspicion would come his way if he were to call the cops. Also, he cannot let the FBI/METRO search his house. I think he’ll use the trip they were suppose to go on as a cover for her vanishing. His co-workers will begin connecting the dots that something isn’t right about Dexter, and he’ll spend the next season covering his tracks and learning to control his desires. He will have to many people looking over his shoulder to continue killing, and will want to find a way to control it if only to prevent his son from the same fate.

Or it can go the other way and with his wife’s passing he loses the little humanity he has, and reverts back to the Dexter of previous seasons.

I loved the ending. Didn’t see that coming at all. I think he would have tortured trinity if he knew. I enjoyed the conversation with Hall and Lithgow at the end. Hall (Dex) looked really different with the crew cut and mullets. Kind of like a redneck Dexter…maybe he’s moving up to the panhandle.

Good point. Didn’t think about the suspicion that would bring on him if he called the cops. It’s somewhat believable if she just disappeared. Still the cops would still be poking around.

Why? I loved the ending. Now we get the real Dexter back. None of this bullshit ‘I’m a human being’ bullshit.

I hated this season, but now have hopes for the next.[/quote]

Not dissapointed as in I thought the ending wasn’t fitting (it was actually pretty epic, poetic, all that junk), just sad that Rita died and baby Harrison was found in the blood. Poor kid. I think the ending will set up the next season very well and it will probably be the last, im not sure where else the show has to go. I’m excited though since hopefully this will make it as intense as the first couple of seasons, with Dexter being a killing machine again and nearly getting caught several times. I wonder if the antagonist will be Quinn this time instead of Doakes…and Debra will probably start suspecting shit too. There were episodes in the earlier seasons that litterally had me shouting, “OH SHIT OH SHIT OH SHIT!” at the end and had me at the edge of my seat, and I want it to be like that again.

**spoiler

i don’t care what anyone says, i almost cried at the end of the episode. is dexter gonna have to cut up rita’s body?

next season dexter is gonna be crazy cause he knows he’s the reason rita is dead and his children are gonna be in morning and he is gonna feel like shit cause he knows it’s his fault the kids lost their mom.

ca’t wait til the 5th season and it’s been a day since 4 ended!

What.the.fuck. that episode was rediculous, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, still dont know what is going to happen after that ending…

*Spoiler

I heard that the 5th season is the last of the contract.

With Deb connecting the dots how can it not be?

Mind = blown.

SPOILER***

The finale was epic but I was sad as fuck at Rita dying.

What is there to hide in his house? Didn’t he move all his kill shit to the docks in that cargo hold (like the one he was found in) after his shed got busted up?

And I think the kids helped make Dexter feel human… remember how he killed that pedophile who was looking at what’s-her-name? Pretty sure he broke his code over that one (not entirely certain, though). I think he’s got a soft spot for the kids (at the very least, for his own… whom he wants to protect from turning out like he did).

The suspicion, I feel, lies in that Masuka/the neighbor know that Dexter knows about the kiss… but I’m not sure they know he made up with her. This, combined with her dying pretty much RIGHT AFTER he “learns” the Ice Truck Killer was his brother, might make it seem like he snapped. Thing is, I don’t think Deb knows about the kiss, or Masuka knows about the Ice Truck Killer - and Dexter is made of gold as far as Deb is concerned.

Quinn will be suspicious, I think, and will probably go the way of Doakes.

Wasn’t this season Dexter’s most popular showing yet?

If so, I can’t see them not wanting to milk it for a few more seasons (at least, I hope). As far as I’m concerned, each season is better than the last. The one thing we need to see more is Dexter’s dark side - I think they should show him as being compelled to kill as a way to release his Dark Passenger, not doing it because he enjoys collecting slides. We saw a glimpse of it when he pulled Trinity off his kid, but that was pretty much it.

John Lithgow, by the way, was a really good choice for Trinity.

straight up, im pissed… Rita was my favorite person next to dexter in that show… Quinn pisses me off and feels too much like Doakes…

I wonder personally if they will have Deb connect the dots, if they do, I bet she ends up training his son in the ways of his father… or, she finds out and lets dexter go, he in tern trains the youth…

either way, I am still sad about Rita, I will forever miss her hotness…

I just want to see Deb find out that Dex is a serial killer.

I asked Santa this year.

Thats a good call about the kiss possibly setting Dexter off. However, I think it IS possible for it to be coincidental. I mean, Trinity kidnapped the 10 yr old, the next step was a bathtub killing. Remember though, Quin for whatever reason thinks that Dexter is always out chasing ass and cheating on Rita. He may suspect something is up with Rita disappesring/dieing.

However, It’s incredibly sad that Dexter was trying his best to balance his two lives, and protect his children from that other side. And for Dex to walk into the bathroom, and see his son sitting in blood, getting the exact same start to life that Dexter had himself. Just insane.

The show can take this so many ways, and I can’t even begin to make predictions.

I hate that Quinn Fucker. Fuck.

Imagine if Dexter woke up and found out it was all a dream.

That would be absolute bullshit

Rita started off hot as shit and seemingly like a real swell chick. Then she started getting fucking needy and being retarded (“Dexter, whatever you’re doing can wait.”). So for me, as sad as it was that she died I don’t think I’ll miss her.

Spoiler, etc

I’m a little mad at the ending. Not the ending as it was, I’m fine with her dying, but it felt so flat. The most emotional thing Dexter has ever had to go through, and it ends with more of his blathering–“now my son’s just like me, I’m a monster, he got her, blah blah”.

The more Dexter became entwined in his family, the more he awoke emotionally, the more those emotions began dictating his life, the more his killing started coming out of emotion/necessity. We saw that he cared–suddenly, spontaneously cared–when he killed the pedo.

He loved his family. He loved Rita.

Seeing her dead in the tub should have made him snap in some way. Rage. Something. Instead, it’s like he looked at her and went, “Oops, you’re dead.”

I don’t know. It bothered me how little he seemed to cared. Just a little emotion. That’s all I wanted. Just a little.

PS: Don’t read the book series if you haven’t already. It is well beyond this point in the TV series, and will ruin the next season and more to come, I’m sure. Also, many of you are wrong in your theories, if they stick to the books :stuck_out_tongue:
