I can’t see how the Dexter’s blood on the skinner’s knife is really that big of a deal. No one would have any reason to suspect that Dexter was there. And now that all the loose ends are tied up, he seems to be home free. I guess the only possible threat might be Deb figuring things out, but that’s a longshot. Rita might wonder why his broken wrist was bleeding, but it’s not like he couldn’t make up a much more believable lie than being caught by the skinner.

I don’t think the bleeding on the dress was a lead-in to a possible threat for Dex next season, more like a commentary on how the blood is a part of his life, and that his dark passenger is always there, even when he tries to hide it. It says, ‘Dexter is more normal now, but he’s still a monster’.
And now we get to see how he works it all together.
I thought his cursing in regard to Miguel ‘Miguel fucking Prado’ and whatnot, was interesting. I don’t think Dexter has ever really cursed before.
I’m assuming Deb might finally be enlightened next season. She’s gotta find out some time. Now that Dex is letting secrets slip it’s only natural she finds out.
What I didn’t get about the skinner part was why didn’t Dexter just stay on the scene when the cops showed up. I mean, Dexter killed Miguel but framed it on the skinner, and since Dexter and Miguel were friends, it was an obvious choice that Dexter could be the next target. All Dexter had to do was tell them he tried to escape and killed the skinner in the process.
I don’t know what will happen with the whole Deb and the CI thing, but I am sure Dexter will find a way to protect himself to the connection of him and his mom.
I think we will see a darker Dexter the next season. He will want to clean the world of the scum for his future kid. I am curious to where he will keep his slides and other tools of his trade now that he is married.

While I don’t think it will be Deb, I do think a “non-monster” will stumble upon what Dexter really is, and their coming to terms with it could make up a good part of next season’s overall story. My guess is Batista or LaGuerta.
Oh yeah…another thing I did not like about this season was Dexter ‘talking’ to him during the last half of the season. It was like Harry was the little angel on Dexter’s shoulder in the old cartoons…‘don’t do it Dexter’…it was stuff they would’ve done through Dexter’s monologues in the past (imo), but seems like they had to dumb it down for the new fans.

I liked the Young Dexter bits better. This was definitely the worst season, yet still good.

I think the reason they did this is because Dexter was moving away and sharing the “Code” with Miguel and Harry or Dexter talking to himself was a realization that he can’t share the code or anything with anyone, he has to keep it to himself.
I just want to see that rage back, I miss those moments where it seems the monster truly shows itself but he is still in complete control. I am hoping that we will see that next season.
edit: wow his ‘wife’ is crazy hott. Definitely getting better as the seasons go on. Disappointing wardrobe about 40mins in, though (you’ll see what I mean).
