I would say that Louie has an innate understanding of pillows and blankies, as below evidence suggests, but there have been a couple of chewing incidents that unfortunately suggest otherwise. Luckily he has the face of a good boy angel, so is very forgivable.

An eight-year old photo that popped up on FB today. She is now eighteen years old and I believe she will pass on in the next week, unfortunately.

So yesterday was her eighteenth birthday. I kept getting FB memories on my feed and then it dawned on me that it was her birthday. My wife had her before she met me and like, you know, some of us men are terrible with dates for important days. 
My wife and kids came home and they asked me if I remembered.
You can obviously tell which photos are more recent.
