Rest in peace Mantsy. You were a good bug. ![]()
Aw, he looks like a good bug!
Thanks!
Actually, She!
And while she may lay down in green pastures, she left us 4 ootheca, so that we may raise an army of mantids to protect the pumpkin patch.
Kiddo is kinda sad. He really liked her.
I bet her kung fu was strong!
Is that a cattle dog? Mine’s a red heeler mix.
Ah! My “something new” I learned today!
But won’t your army EAT the pumpkin patch?
Yup. Blue heeler. He’s very smart, very high energy, and very mentally/emotionally balanced. We will probably only get heelers in the future. He does things like teach himself to climb ladders and slide down the slide with the kids. He is a handful though.
That is the beauty of them. They are almost entirely carnivorous.
Was not a huge fan of her (very necessary) first bath!

Poor Winnie! How could you do this to her, when she’s such a good girl and doesn’t ever make YOU take baths!
Her face perfectly described that injustice! She was a good girl though, managed to jump out once and then mostly just cowered lol.
Her DNA results came back
50% pointer (makes sense)
44% Aussie (huh???)
6% Supermutt lol
You are braver than I am. I imagine my dog scratching the crap out of my beloved tub.
When we had Dani (mastiff/shepherd cross) we took her to a local pet store where you could bathe them yourself. $10 covered the bath, shampoo, towels etc. Plus they had a clip for her collar so she wouldn’t hare out of the tub.
Your guy looks violated and very hard one by. He’s seen some bad stuff ![]()
There are some little birds that live in our front awning. The kitties have discovered the birds.
Little tabby wants to get the birds. Derp-derp is just dazzled by them.
Do your kitties make that weird sort of chirping like sound when they see the birds?
The female (tabby) does. She’s much more predatory than the big fella. His new name is Derpy because he’s a big floppy blepping derp that runs into walls and falls off of large flat surfaces.
Comically of course. ![]()
We have two cats who are similar in nature. The derpy one is Moses. He will just lie down and let whatever happen. The other, Toff is a feral dink. To get him in a crate to take him to the vet required welding gloves and the chase only terminated when he got stuck to a rat glue trap behind our oven.
Forgot to respond to this - I have a red heeler (mix). Same kind of personality. He’s a bit more clingy since the family I rescued him from had him crated 12+ hours a day for the first 3 years of his life and never walked him, and we do everything with him, but besides getting a bit too worked up from time to time he’s incredible. I think he’s got a bit of Akita in him, though. Anyways, Blue Heelers are just beautiful. Looks like a good companion for your other little one.
Our other dog (who’s 12) is heeler mix (maybe with some lab) we rescued from a garage sale. Also an amazing dog. Since we couldn’t get another of her, we got a heeler to get one as close as we could. Truly wonderful dogs, if you put in the work. It pains me when people get working dogs and put them in apartments and crap.
FTR heelers tend to be pretty clingy, normally with just one person. With ours, I’m the one person. You do have to watch though, because they can sometimes get a little standoffish with other family members.

In Paris (France, not Kansas), perched along a busy sidewalk, allowing all who dare to pet it.
Obviously not mine, but to beautiful not to post.
