Shoulders During Deadlift?

Hi all,
I’m just a bit confused as to weather the shoulder blades should be squeezed during the deadlift…

mistake 2 is that it shouldnt be which will also place less stress on shoulders…

I’ve always thought that keeping blades together is good way to correct the imbalance of anterior/posterior?

So any comments?? or are they both correct but for different purposes?
Thanks

Both are correct. It depends on why you are doing deadlifts. Dave Tate is a powerlifter and his only concern is deadlifting as much weight as possible. Ian King uses deadlifts to strengthen the posterior chain and also to balance out all the horizontal pressing exercise people do.
Ian King also says that using his style you will have to lower the amount of weight you deadlift slightly.
