Shoulder/Upper Trap Pain

Thanks BBB yea LevelHeaded really helped me out with the picture. Can you elaborate on what ART and crossfriction are? Would I see a physical therapist for something like this.

BBB, I completely agree. A simple picture can help so much!

bigpicture, I agree with BBB that it very well could be supraspin and some treatment to the area may relieve some of your pain symptoms. But I would still get to the doc since you stated you are getting some numbness and tingling into your arm.

As for ART, it is Active Release Technique and you can go to their website to find a provider: Find a Provider - Active Release Techniques

I would also recommend considering a Graston Technique practitioner as well: http://www.grastontechnique.com/LocateaProvider.html

Both are great soft tissue manipulation approaches and you can’t really go wrong with either.

Hi Levelheaded - I have an advanced level human Biology diploma (college level if you’re from U.S.) - nothing major but it helps with muscle names, locations, body functions, reactions and anything you can think of to do with the way the body works really. This was ten years ago but i suppose the body has not changed much since then. Yes I am only looking at shoulder issues as this is somewhat of an interest to me as this is the only injury I have ever had. As replying to older posts i.e. 5yrs - I forgot to look at the date lol!! New the site!!

I AGREE totally with what you are saying don’t get me wrong I was just telling my story and how the symptoms were the same as BigPictures!

Cheers lads

Thanks for all the replies I checked into ART and I think I am going to try it. I am just hoping my insurance will cover it. I think that it could help but I am still going to the shoulder specialist just to make sure its nothing more serious. Thanks again!
