Shoulder SLAP Tear

Just had Left shoulder SLAP tear repair (11-3 o’clock) with large bone spur removal on 12/8. No idea on number of anchors, haven’t had post opp appt yet. Nerve block failed in pre op. Pain control since has been pretty rough. Suggestions, besides bite on a wooden spoon? I’m not tough but no stranger to ortho. Right knee, right shoulder, right hip scope previous. Didn’t feel like this.

Currently using circulating ice machine (a lot) Percocet 1 tab q6 hours. This is down from 1-2 tabs q4 hours for the first 24 hours. Trying to ration pain medication a bit.

Many thanks in advance

*I don’t post a bunch, not sure if this is the right “area.” Sorry if not.

Man I feel ya. I’ve PT through partial slap tear and avoided surgery. Not sure how to help you. Did they give you strong odds of success from the surgery?

Yeah, I mean I feel good about odds. As much as you can I guess. I’m so fresh outta surgery in the big picture I don’t think anyone really “knows.” Long answer longer, I have trust in the surgeon. He’s the same guy that did my hip. Just the pain is unrelenting. Not lifting or being at my normal activity level is tough. Coming across as a huge complainer. But, geez.
