Fuckin what?! Lol…was this guy generally a joker or was he claiming to be serious? =D
Edit - nevermind. I didn’t read the last sentence in your post.
Hey Masch. My hubby asked me to stop by and comment on your thread.
pre-empt this by stating that I have been an expanded functions dental assistant for 25 years.
The primary tooth is probably only being held in by ligaments and not much bone support at this point, since you stated it was loose.
I would let the dentist pull it using local anesth. those ligaments are pretty strong buggers and without seeing an xray myself, I am assuming at least part of whatever root remains might still be in bone.
If you want to test how much retention the ligaments/bone have…try twisting the tooth instead of wiggling back and forth.
Implants are expensive but you run a really great risk of the surrounding teeth shifting over time and creating more problems that can’t be easily fixed. Go get a couple of quotes from oral surgeons on what the implant would cost and you can start saving for it. Your insurance should help pay for the crown that goes on top of the implant. your dentist can pre-authorize the treatment for you so that you would know ahead what your responsibility would be.
Shoot me a pm if you have any other questions. It was fun reading this thread…I miss T-Nation.

oh, and warm salt water rinses will help keep the area under the baby tooth clean from debris and pus. 1 tsp of table salt mixed into 8oz of the warmest tap water you can tolerate…swish with all 8ozs.

Hi Alicia! Thank you so much for such a thoughtful and informative post! This is fantastic! Thank you.
You’re advice looks sound and I will definitely follow suite. I did try twisting the tooth and it does feel a little sturdier put, so you’re right, its prob best i hit up a dentist. I will definitely do this as soon as I can, and in the meantime do the salt water rinse (brilliant!)
Interesting thread. I’m having a baby tooth extracted next week. I had a massive cavity that I didn’t know about and eventually it got so bad that a large chunk of the tooth broke off. I don’t feel the need to be put out.

Not catfish, sea turtles, mate. And as for the sutures? Human hair. From my back.

Not funny. Whoever hacked Varqanir’s old account, that’s not funny at all.

Hi Masch,
I’ve had several teeth extracted, including all 4 wisdom teeth. None of them required me being put to sleep. Not even the severly impacted one that had started leaking pus. That just got cut out with a scalple.
Under no circumstances try to knock it out…what are you, English?
How confident are you that whoever whacks you one in the gob will knock only the bad tooth out?
Dentists do prefer you to be awake while they do the deed as:
They get off on the look on your face when they bring out the surgical pliers.
You being awake means you can help by producing a resistive force while they give a good yank on said pliers…
If they put you under you’ll wake up with bruised tits. The reason is:
All dentists are perverts.
To hold your head still and get sufficient leverage with the pliers, they have to lean on your chest with their elbows. Sometimes they put on their golf shoes for extra grip.
You have been training your neck muscles right? I recommend a couple of months of Wrestlers Bridges before sitting in the chair.

Found your coach / sensei.
In fact, I’m now training with him.

Yeah, I sent you a message about that, but I guess it vanished into the ether. I’ll try again.
