Should I Pull It Out Myself?

HA! I have no freaking clue! Its just in there, hanging on precariously.

Ok, well, lots of good input peeps! Minus HM and Counting beans, and Rock…and Hungry. Thanks guys.

Binky, I guess I failed to mention, but the tooth extraction isn’t imperative, but because of this gap under the tooth, food and stuff gets in there and its causing an infection - if you press on the gum pus comes out (who wants a piece of me now?). So I’m just thinking proactively - you know, so the other teeth around them don’t get all corroded…

I had one of my baby teeth till I was 23 or so, it was a phantom tooth and I just never had a adult tooth that replaced it.

Chipped it eating nuts once, and it just was getting looser and looser, so I had it pulled under a local an. by a dentist. He then wanted £450 to put a tooth in it’s place, I declined.

take it out jackass 3 style. Find a friend with a lambo, tie your tooth to the back bumper with a long string, they’ll be going about 80mph when they run out of string.

or, you could take a shot of vodka and then pull it out. lol.
My dad used a similar method on me once, tied a tooth to a door handle and gave the door a yank.

Good times!

There’s a bunch of gap-toothed mother fuckers in this place, huh?

I like the idea of a phantom tooth!

I think you should get it done in the dr. office. You have insurance and you never what could wrong. You only get one purty mouth in this life, why risk f’ing it up?

Well… FINE. :stuck_out_tongue:

I didn’t know that you had an infection, otherwise i’d say that you HAVE to go to the dentist, get on antibiotics, then get it extracted.

Yeah I was going to say just start wiggling it, but how much puss do you really want to deal with?

True.

If it wasn’t for the eventual pain and the damage to the other teeth… a lot, I guess.

Tooth aches are the worst.

I was so going to say let me yank that tooth out, until you mentioned pus. I pulled all my little sisters baby teeth LOL, even the ones that were just a bit wiggly. Sibling torture, good times. But for real, go see a doctor. That pus and food pocket sounds nasty.

Ya all remember Varqanir? Well apparently he can’t post here anymore but he contacted me and asked me to relay how he would handle these baby teeth.

He said he would go to the dentist to have the tooth extracted but he would tell the dentist not to use any anesthesia so he would know exactly what it felt like to remove it. That way, if that other baby tooth or any other tooth for that matter, ever started causing trouble and Varq was in a place where he couldn’t get help he would know how to do it himself.

That’s Varq for ya.

Hahaha! I always enjoyed his posts.

are we still on teeth or have we moved back to talking about sexy time with OP?

I was thinking that a swift elbow to the tooth might take care of this silly inconvenience just as well as a few hours at the dentist…

Any thoughts, advisement much appreciated.

Thank you!
Lol! You’re fuckin nails =D

On topic - my parents used the whole string on the doorknob method when I was younger as well but, aye, if there’s puss in there the dentist should really be the one to do this.

This thread is not as sexy as the title led me to believe.

I remember him, any details on why he can’t post? There seem to be a lot of senior members that aren’t allowed back or that you don’t see anymore.

I have no idea what’s going on with Varq and I just made that up about him not being able to post.

For the 99 percent of you who have no idea what I’m talking about above, Varqanir once told a story about when he was a kid he got a deep cut and had to go for stitches. He told the doctor not to numb it because he needed to know what it would feel like if he ever had to do it himself.

Sure enough on a camping trip he sliced himself open. He had to kill a wild boar to get some ligament to use as thread then he reached under a log in the swamp to get a catfish to bite down on his arm. Having procured the fish, he used one of its rib bones as a needle to stitch up his are with the ligaments from the boar.

Either that or he had a needle and thread with him, I can’t remember which.

Wicked! I could really use some survival skills like these. I have my “go-bag” ready, but what good am I going to be if I can’t even start a fire with sticks or cure an infection with maggots?

Thanks guys!

See I didn’t think the pus was such a big deal b/c its basically just food and crap that’s getting stuck under my tooth - but Diana always gives good advice, so yeah, maybe I’ll just get this bitch taken out by a proper dentist.

But like Varq said c/o Edge (maybe) and like some others have done - I think i’m just going to go to the dentist and get it taken out under local anesthesia and NOT get put to sleep. I think the idea of getting put to sleep was what was troubling me most about this whole extraction situ - passing out with an exposed and gaping orifice has never been a good thing for me.
