Should I Compete?

Should I compete??? I’ve only been lifting for 2 years.
here are some stats
age: 16
Weight: 145
Bench: 215
Squat: 360 3X
deadlift: 350

Go for it. But you’ll have to lower your squat.

There is no reason why somebody should ever NOT compete. Competition is between you and the weight. Competition will greatly improve your motivation to train and set new goals. By all means compete, this is what will set you apart from the other drones at your gym. If you compete you are now “training” for something and not just “working out”.

i would say you will be very competitive for your age group. you have a lot going for you because you’re so young. if you really like powerlifting my advice is to start competing as soon as possible. trust me on this. you’ll love it. there will always be guys stronger than you. thats what makes it great. you can always get a little better.

Who cares? Its not about how you compare against others. Its you against the weight. Worry about breaking PR’s and performing at your best. There is always going to be others stronger than you.

I’d like to see video of these lifts. Your numbers are almost identical to the other thread on the same topic. If you want to compete you know you have to go below parallel on your squats, right?
