So here’s my situation. I have about three weeks to make the most visible improvement I can in my build after coming off of months of terribly inconsistent diet and training.
I’ve been training for years, but fell into a depression after a series of injuries that kept me out of the gym, and am only now awakening from my miserable slumber. I’m 5’11", 225lbs, probably 25% bodyfat at least.
I’m wondering what supplement will give me the most bang for my buck for such a short period of time. Obviously, I can’t diet my way down to not being a fat slob in just three weeks. I’m already doing HOT-ROX (and of course Surge and Grow!).
I have a stash of MAG-10, but I’ve been saving it for a bulking cycle after I finally lose the fat. My first instinct was creatine (since I haven’t done it in years, and might blow up pretty well in this state). It’s the only supplement I can think of that offers quick visual improvements in spite of a hypocaloric diet.
Any other ideas? Please help my sorry, jalopy ass.
What’s your hurry? Rome wasn’t built in a day, and if you try to do something half-hazardly, you’re bound to hurt yourself in the long run.
With that said, if you’re trying to look good for something ASAP, your best bet is to get a tan. Seriously.

Good advice Eric. A tan really does make a huge difference BTW!
In three weeks, even with the best possible approach; the best you can hope for is a lost of around 8-10lbs of ft with minimal muscle loss or a loss of 3-6lbs of fat with a slight muscle gain. Believe me, I’ve been there. By trying desperate quick fixed you could actually set yourself backward a ton.
A good plan is to give yourself 8-12 weeks and to use, in order:
- A perfect diet
- A solid training program
- An energy system program adapted to your diet
- HOT-ROX
- MAG-10 (if you still have some)
- Carbolin 19 (I will probably put it higher on my list in the future, but I have to try it and review it carefully first).

Oh yeah, working on your posture can also make a huge visual difference.
Wow, thanks for the input fellas. Yeah, this would essentially amount to my first four weeks of a longer 12-week program. It’s only today that I realized I have a function coming up in three and a half weeks that I’d like to try to look my best for (my best right now would be pretty damn bad by the standards of pretty much anyone who posts on this site).
Anyway, let this be a lesson to all you weak-willed fatties like me. No amount of self-indulgent sulking is worth even the smallest loss of years’ worth of hard work. See a psychiatrist if you have to.
Anyway, I’ll focus on the 12 week goal and put the three week thing out of my mind, if you really think it could be that catastrophic. Another catastrophe is the last thing I need. I think I will try the creatine though, and save the MAG-10 for after. Thanks again, guys.
