Short Simple Workout at Home 6 Days/wk?

I have been doing Thibadeau’s 20 minute msucle builder program ( 20-Minute Muscle Builder ) for a few months and have to say i’m VERY much pleased. But it’s just been incredibly repetitive since you’re only doing 4 movements total for 6 days.

I have a squat rack, bench, dip station with belt and hex bar at home, which allows me to do that program. I’m looking for something similar which would allow me to work out in a short time period and achieve great results. Any suggestions?

Do you want results or do you want to be entertained?

You’ve been training for months while doing basically zero leg work. A program that contains either daily squatting or one or two dedicated leg days would be my suggestion.

What is your exact/specific goal?

What’s your current height, weight, and general fat level?

What’s your current strength on the four lifts you’ve been doing?

I practically want to increase strength but not at the expense of muscular mass. I see way too many guys who bench and squat incredible numbers but have the same build as my little sister.

I’m 5,9. 200 lbs and I haven’t had an accurate bodyfat measurement but i’m sure its 18-20% range.

Buy 5/3/1 and do it. You have all the equipment you need.

I’d like to see pictures of these guys who bench and squat “incredible numbers” and have the same build as your little sister. Maybe you’re a little confused about what “incredible numbers” are on those lifts. The fact that you did not answer the question “What’s your current strength on the four lifts you’ve been doing?” seems a little bit telling.

I also don’t get, and never will get, why many people look at this as an either/or proposition (hypertrophy and strength, that is).

Thanks man! Just ordered the book, looks like just what I need

Since when does strength have anything to do with muscular mass? And the reason why I didn’t include my strength on the lifts it’s because it’s irrelevant, it’s isolated information. Do you know if I had an injury that didn’t allow me to lift for a long period of time? Or maybe i’m just a newbie starting out, is that a problem?

I’m not going to be part of a dick measuring contest here on who lifts more, I asked a question because I want to improve and 1 person gave me a very good one, the rest are here trying to out-alpha me lol, go drink your MAG-10 and add 20 lbs of muscle in a week bruh.

Since ever.

Certainly a lot of strength is neural… how well you recruit the muscle mass you have. Which means having muscle mass.

Tricky question - Some time around the Cambrian Explosion I guess.

I guess you’ve answered this question.

Well, at least I’m entertained.

EDIT:

I’m really curious. Where did you get your information from prior to posting here?

I can’t even.

OK, I’ll actually try to give helpful input.

Well, increasing strength on the big lifts is not the ONLY way to get bigger, but it seems rather unlikely that someone could go from squatting 185 to squatting 365, or benching 135 to benching 275, without accidentally gaining a bit of muscle here and there.

I still am curious who you know that posts “incredible numbers” on the big lifts and looks like your little sister.

It’s “isolated information” - what does that even mean? It’s very relevant. The advice given to someone asking how to get bigger kind of depends on where they stand right now. If you’re benching 315 for reps, the advice will probably be a tad bit different than if you’re benching 135.

And there’s no shame in asking advice. Despite your apparent fear of revealing your lifts, it wouldn’t hurt. Quite the contrary. The more honest you are on the front end, the better advice you’ll receive from some of the very successful dudes on this forum. Much good advice has been doled out to noobs that are just starting out, and those who take said advice often make great progress.

You’d be allowed to include that information, BTW. As stated above, most guys on this forum are pretty understanding of mitigating circumstances when they’re dispensing advice. It’s only when the person asking advice acts like a dick that the ritualistic forum hazing comes out.

This only exists because you made it feel that way.

Look, you can do whatever you want to do. It’s a free country, and there are PLENTY of different paths to a big, strong physique.

This still falls into the “I can’t even” category.

Are you serious?

Since when does strength have anything to do with muscular mass?
[/quote]

NOBODY wants to know the size of your dick, believe me!!!
Strength and mass go hand in hand. It is a fundamental part of the game and you will need to fully digest that sooner than later. Infact…you will need to gain considerable strength to gain just a small amount of muscle

You didn’t honestly think you could grow big muscles and not get stronger did you?

The question about your lifts were valid when you stated you were 5’ 9", 200lbs and guys your size could lift crazy amounts of weight compared to yourself

I am 5’ 9" and 15lbs lighter than you so I was also curious your strength numbers when you made your comment
