Shooting On Fort Hood

I am on my phone, so I don’t know whats going on but from what I can piece together it seems that the Major re-enlisted(not sure if that is the term officers use) and got pissed he got called to war.

Am I getting this correct so far?

Officers don’t enlist (or re-enlist). They can incur additional service obligations from accepting certain benefits, like schooling at government expense.
That makes sense, anyways from what i am seeing now it looks like this was an a lone Job, and apparently he was targeting the people he knew.

So was there more than one shooter? The earlier stories said there were possibly one or two, the most recent one I saw didn’t mention anything accomplices…

My condolences to the families. Truly a sad situation.

Warm up the cargo ships.

And you know what? Get the fuck off this forum. My roommate from freshman year was a Muslim. The man loves this country as much as he loves his family. He loves this country so much that he’s trying to find any loophole in he can with the scholarship he gets from Kuwait to go to school so that he can stay in America after he graduates. He can tell you stories about when Saddam’s troops came into his house in the 90’s, and how much he thanks the US soldiers for basically saving his whole family. Muslims aren’t terrorists, there are just terrorists who are muslims.

I repeat, get the fuck off these forums you intolerant, incestuous, bigoted fuck.
In other words, your roomie was ‘connected’ and now so are you.

Go back to Pakistan or Afghanistan or whatever hellhole you arose from…

Great guy isn’t he?

I’d seen him in relatively harmless doses, mostly where he’s trying to have super hot sex with his teen daughter. I guess all that dirty teen incest got to his head.
Fantasizing? Popped into your head, not mine. You really should consider your issues there dude.

Probably a West Pointer…

Just kidding.
And you’re probably a misinformed shit talker, with an over-inflated sense of self importance.

Just kidding.

Damn near every point you’ve made is a generalization; wow- Soldiers getting divorced? No shit? so that must make them unfit for duty. Fuck 'em if they’ve done two 15 month deployments and are staring down a third 12 month deployment; they OBVIOUSLY lack the ethics and morals to serve if they cannot keep their marriage intact. DUIs? Really? Young men and women make dumb decisions with alcohol? Who’d a fuckin thunk. (And then they are subsequently punished under UCMJ, lose rank, money, barred from reenlistment and flagged for favorable actions- or perhaps immediately chaptered/removed from service). Burn a piss test? (Mandatory Chapter actions/separation from service are initiated by the Chain of Command). 17-24 year olds in the Armed Services are a cross section of society at large- difference is they are held accountable to a much higher standard. Doing the things you mentioned does not equal murderer.

There are a whole shitload of those kids who’ve been divorced, gotten drunk downtown and pissed on cop cars, said “fuck the Army”, that are also straight-up fighting fools in combat, and I’d take 'em any day.

And no, I am not a West Pointer.

Ummm…Hasan is alive…they just said. The Army declared him dead even though they knew he’s been alive this whole time.

He was wounded by a female officer who was also reported dead but she is alive as he is.

Yup, it’s true.

Still have a couple of friends that I have yet to hear from…two that were there for the ceremony. One other just happened to be in Indiana for FTX.

12 people confirmed dead…and it has been confirmed that these shooters were in fact U.S. soldiers.

Given the “quality” of your typical Soldier, they would have been my first guess.

You might want to clarify that statement a little… The first thing I interpreted that as is that “typical” soldiers are mentally unstable, and the second thing I interpreted it as is that a “typical” soldier is good at shooting people who aren’t expecting it.

Either way isn’t going to exactly endear you to the military folk around here.

I’m military folk.

I recently deployed and worked with some great Soldiers. Unfortunately, far too many were total garbage. DUI’s, pissing hot for drugs, being married multiple times, blowing every dime they had the weekend they were paid, and just having an overall attitude of not giving a shit about anything. I won’t even get into some the behavior that occurred while deployed.

Hopefully, this clears some things up for you.
The military recruits from the same pool of people that any corporation does. There are plenty of people that you’ve described above in any organization. We should be carefull when using the word “typical”

I’m former military folk

And now regarding freedom of speech issues…We’ve now established that you’re against that, and we’ve established that you’re probably Muslim (Muslims raraly room with non-Muslims).

So…where do you stand wrt the whole ‘Jihad’ thing?

This really pisses me off. This Hasan coward is fucking coward.

I have nothing but respect for the people that put their lives on the line for our country. I get the feeling this is becoming more and more of the minority somtimes when cowards do shit like this.

Also, I don’t give a shit if a person has a DUI, been divorced, pisses hot. I am friends with more people like that than whatever is opposite. However, they are patriatic and we defend family, friends, and land. If you don’t want to hang out with the people you speak of send 'em my way for a beer.

Is everyone carrying on a base? I heard he was only using 2 9mm. Seems they would have shot him before 20 something people got shot.

Pittsburgh might not be at the height of it’s career, but it’s not a hellhole… I’m a protestant, my mother’s a minister, I went to catholic high school.

I’m not “connected”, I have a friend. If you want to believe that nobody from outside of America can ever like, appreciate, love, whatever America, then I sincerely hope you get your wish and America ends up as where everyone else takes their shits. But it’ll be alright, because the muslims would probably leave out of self-respect, and then you’d be happy again.

What do I think about Jihad? I think Jihad as it is presented in the Qu’ran is a much different idea than the media presents. The Catholics have a belief called a “Just War” which is almost the exact same as the true meaning of Jihad. A Jihad is not allowed to harm a hair on the head of a non-combatant, no livestock, and nothing which could adversely affect a non-combatant such as poisoning water supplies, cutting off food transportation, etc. I think militant Jihadists are the worst cowards in the world, and I also think that people have, much like in any religion, found fanatics who perverted ideas and brainwashed people they could manipulate.

Also, my head is right here. Yours is in a big-ass thread that started with you wanting to buy your 12-year-old daughter a vibrator. Maybe your daughter will go into the marines like your son, I hear good things about female marines and gangbangs.

Oh, and I’m not anti-freedom of speech. But there’s a difference between speech/press being free and people hiding behind the first ammendment to spread ingorance and intolerant hate. I’m not calling for you to be arrested or sued, I’m just calling you a horrible human being.

Yea, thats also strange to me why there wasn’t a LOT of people with guns. Or maybe there was but due to the situation they just couldn’t tell who to shoot, with the uniforms and all. I would imagine if you see a guy in uniform firing on people and you start firing on him, well in a second or two another guy could come on the scene and think you are the shooter and start shooting at you. Must have been a real messed up situation.

Very true about the identifying the shooter issue. Also,he started shooting IN the Readiness Center…where soldiers do paperwork, get vaccinations, etc in preparation for deployment. That building…and especially the area he began shooting is very crowded during that process.

And I must add that soldiers are not armed on base unless they are carrying out training exercises…etc. MP’s,DOA civilian police, and gate security are the only people that carry all the time. Concealed carry is not allowed.
