My thoughts are with everyone in Ft. Hood, and with all their friends and family. Regardless of motive, this is a terrible, terrible thing. I don’t think it behooves anyone to get too worked up about a particular theory until we know more facts.

He (the shooter) is a mental health specialist. Not sure what that is. It is correct that he was scheduled to redeploy out to the Middle East.
The mental health specialists we sent our guys to while deployed were all Air Force personnel. But from what I gathered they were just glorified counselors.
If they are people who help guys deal with PSTD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) then I think they are good people (except when they do this shit of course.) I cannot imagine how those guys who come home from Iraq or Afghanistan, have to defuse themselves within a very short period of time, and deal with non war-like society. Going from being shot at to normal life in a matter of 1-2 days is unreal to think about.
Could this have been an attack?

Gee, that sounds like the behaviour of the ‘‘Professionals’’ that i have run across in civy street as well, who would have thought that.

My son came home from Iraq last Spring and was diagnosed at Hood with PTSD. He had the 1000 mile stare and was emotionally numb. I was there when he lost it during a violent thunderstorm just one week after he got home. Not fun, but he wasn’t violent - everybody handles it differently. There isn’t much the Government can do or knows how to do.
I put him into my own form of rehab right away. Took him out on the boat EVERY weekend with plenty of beer, wakeboards, ski’s, tubes, loud music and BBQ. When he wasn’t cutting lose on the water he was oogling the bikinis. I took as many of his buddies out as the boat could handle.
It was a good summer and the decompression plan worked.

Letting ANY Muslims in this country is just plain whack.
Warm up the cargo ships.

Am I getting this correct so far?
I haven’t heard this yet…but it’s not far-fetched. But with that name, most will think his motives don’t stop there. Especially with accomplices involved.
I for one, immediately pictured a muslim Jihadist when I saw the major’s name.
Spot on. NOW do I look like a kook for railing on about this, all these years?
Put 'em all on those cargo ships. Let their home shitholes have 'em, the Satanists!!
This makes me sick. I really want to join the Military soon, and it just makes me feel so terrible to know that some good men where gunned down like that. Now those few guys will make our whole Military look bad. I just can’t understand why they would do that to there own.
Fucking bastards. They should be executed via firing squad.

I would expect the behavior mentioned above from civilians, not from guys who claim to Soldiers.
Who would of thought that?

Well…the main shooter was killed by SWAT. They released two suspects…but still have one in custody. They haven’t confirmed much about the suspect still in custody.

They seemed to help in some cases. In others, going to see “mental health” was an excuse for some guys to get out of trouble.
And it just depends on the person on how they react upon returning home. From what I observed, most of the guys in my unit didn’t have any major issues other than re-adjusting to living with their wives.
Major Nidal Malik Hasan was the shooter. 12 confirmed dead (shooter and a civilian cop included), 31 injured.

And you know what? Get the fuck off this forum. My roommate from freshman year was a Muslim. The man loves this country as much as he loves his family. He loves this country so much that he’s trying to find any loophole in he can with the scholarship he gets from Kuwait to go to school so that he can stay in America after he graduates. He can tell you stories about when Saddam’s troops came into his house in the 90’s, and how much he thanks the US soldiers for basically saving his whole family. Muslims aren’t terrorists, there are just terrorists who are muslims.
I repeat, get the fuck off these forums you intolerant, incestuous, bigoted fuck.

I’d seen him in relatively harmless doses, mostly where he’s trying to have super hot sex with his teen daughter. I guess all that dirty teen incest got to his head.

Officers don’t enlist (or re-enlist). They can incur additional service obligations from accepting certain benefits, like schooling at government expense.
