Hendo was actually jacked up that fight-
I saw an interview video somewhere about it
his back was hurt
and he was on some meds that gave him a hard time making weight
and probably made him move like shit.
you can see it that fight.
Shields for 95% of his career has been unfinishable and Hendo put the beating of a life time
on him in Rounds 1 and 2- then he ran out of gas/subbed what ever.
Rampage Hendo was actually a good fight
Rampage moved well- much better footwork then we have seen recently
this was back when he trained with Juanito Iberra- I cant spell.
Shogun is starting to be in the realm of Vito Belfort
‘Pride shogun’ = ‘old Vitor’
doesn’t seem to be doing all that well
his main arsenal of head stomps and Soccer kicks are gone
two or three long layoffs- and knee surgeries
still lacking in real take downs and take down defense
he still has crazy wild stand up
and his conditioning has not been great ( big layoffs and still training for 10 minute round)
that all being said - Hendo is also aging but does better at 205 then 185
and wants to throw power bombs.
Shogun can win this with leg kicks and better striking
If Fedor, Wanderlei, AS and Rampage couldn’t knock Hendo i don’t think Shogun will be the one, specially since he doesn’t seem to be kicking a lot lately due to multiple knee surgeries. I may change my opinion as soon as they release a training camp footage from Shogun at Kings MMA

Silva knocked him down (one of the few times I’ve ever seen anyone do that), but he is probably the most accurate striker in all of MMA. I agree that I don’t think Shogun will KO him, but I do think he’s the superior technical striker and could potentially beat him by decision.
I honestly think that Hendo could probably take Shogun down and just control him there for the decision, but I’ve seen most of Dan’s fights and predict he’ll instead try to just stand toe to toe with Shogun and throw overhand rights from his hip trying for the KO victory.
That is a pretty cool video. Damn…in Brazil you can tell that fighting either jiu-jitsu or capoeira is a huge part of their culture. They are some tough SOB’s.

Rua have not changed his punching style…LOL
funny thing is Murilo Ninja looks like he is 35 and there is a girl under the table watching the fight.

“Hendo survived Fedor.” I chuckled at that. Is it any wonder how badly most of the Pride guys are doing in the UFC? How inconsistant they quickly became? Based on past performances, injuries, and a slight bias, I’m going with Hendo. I won’t hold the Shields debacle against Hendo, as I consider that a severe fluke. Much like GSP/Serra 1.
With Shogun’s constant knee problems, I don’t see him whipping those legs kicks much.
Belfort/Le is a very interesting matchup.
Hendo is a Pride guy too, So is Andy Silva.
tell that to the god damned Underground. The one thing that place has over shitdog is that it is a breeding ground for memes and shit like ^ that. I can’t help myself sometimes lol.
