I’m just curious because I too love being barefoot but all the doctors I’ve spoken to tell me I should be wearing insteps because I’m horribly flat footed and pronate a little.
Do any of you have foot problems and still find the 5 Fingers to be good?
i’m flat footed as well. although a previous runner (up to marathon level) i developed a chronic calf cramping that has kept running off my radar for like a decade.
a very good physical therapist recommended arch support and i wore SOLE with some success. however, since going Vibram i am a full fledged runner again. i can do it all again without injury. love these shoes! i wear the nike 5’s at work since they don’t look goofy and also help with your adaptation to the vibrams (5 is halfway between 0 and 10, so it’s like being half barefoot)

You may find you get more balance and power using them. At least I did. I refuse to use anything else besides my vibrams (or bare feet) for anything legs or deads.

Did you notice them being better than using regular chuck taylors?

Well I guess I need to take back my opinion about wearing nothing else. I haven’t tried chuck’s before.
*I noticed them being better than the usual basketball shoe that I would wear in the past. There lol.

Haha, I didn’t mean it as a shot at you. I’ve just always lifted in chucks. I’ll find out whether or not they’re better soon enough.
Alright, just got back from the gym. I’ve gotta say, these shoes are noticeably better for deads than chucks. They have a lot more traction which really helps when you try to push out through the side of your feet. Other than that they’re just a lot more comfortable. And walking on the grass around campus feels really cool.
Just got a pair of KSOs this morning. Gym’s closed this week for renovations, so only done some light stuff around the house, burpees and whatnot. But so far they’re just crazy comfortable and doing everything basically barefoot is a totally different feeling. Usually lift in wrestling shoes for the stability, and I can already tell these are much better. Can’t wait to do some trailrunning/hiking in them. Maybe even take up Parkour!!
just bought my pair of kso’s last night. I am going to try and give them a week or so before i do any lifting in them…but with my lack of willpower to abstain from playing with new toys, i will probably DL in them come monday

Did you eventually develop invincible feet?
I wish! I believe wearing these have made me more “aware” of my feet. I suffered bad sprained left ankle(s) year before I got these. Since then I haven’t even come close to spraining my left ankle knock on wood.
However, my theory did not work for me when I jammed my pinkie toe at home on a wall of a corner. I think I broke it or sprained the hell out of it but never went to the doctors lol.
Overall I am VERY satisfied from these shoes and recommend them to anyone.

Hopefully this awareness of feet catches on with me, because I stub my toes every other time I walk past my couch.
I’ve been using these for squats/deads/sprints for about 3 years…way better than chucks and sambas.
I have 3 pair of sprint and 2 of original and 1 kso…
the grip and feedback to your feet with the flat- siped soles on a clean wood oly platform is phenomenal.
Grip w/ KSO’s on oly platform is not as good and you get a less feedback but obviously it’s better for outdoor use.
I sprint on a track but have hit the deck many times on grass with the siped soles when goofing around playing pick-up whatever so watch out there.

Uhhh where do you guys do that PK stuff? That’s pretty weird. :D
Weird? I think you mean AWESOME!!!
You can do it anywhere. Parkour is defined as as moving through your environment while using your environment to move more effciently. Or something like that. So instead of going around the jersey barrier in your way, you go over it.
The OP’s videos, and most PK videos, are more like free running. More fun for sure.
