Shin Splints; HELP

Epic bbump, but I cured my shin splints (which were at the exact same place as yours), by massaging the inner are of the shin with pressure on the places where it hurt the most, trying to untie the bumps. Doing this 3 times per day and applying ice after the massage, did the work in les than 15 days. My shin splints were at the point I could barely walk after practise. The massage wil hurt (a lot), but in the end, is good for you.

You seem like a fairly heavy guy from your avatar. If I were you I would scrap the distance running and do sprints instead. All that continuous pounding on the road can be rough on a big mans joints.

Also move most of your running onto grass for now. That alone should improve things after a few weeks.

If you are a new runner with shin splints, it’s to be expected. Just keep running, rest, massage, ice, and it’ll eventually just go away by itself. (try and correct muscular balances in the legs, which may help)

I had brutal shin splints when I first started running. They just went away month by month as my legs adapted to the demands of running.

Calf raises can also help. Running on stuff besides pavement too.
