As a lifetime natural lifter, this statement is stupid at best and almost insulting for two reasons: lucky for you I have thicker skin than that but your argument is such a paper tiger I figured I’d write a word or two while I can’t sleep…
Your statement I quoted above diminishes and undervalues the hard work true natty lifters put in by saying steroids can do it better without exercising.
This isn’t even true. AND it was stated as such IN THE STUDY YOU CITED. Like what on earth, man. Read the study!! Here’s some quotes to jog your memory, italics are mine and some numerical info removed for clarity:
Supraphysiologic doses of testosterone, especially when combined with strength training, increase fat-free mass and muscle size and strength in normal men.
The men assigned to testosterone and exercise had greater increases in fat-free mass and muscle size than those assigned to either no-exercise group, and greater increases in muscle strength than either no-exercise group.
The combination of strength training and testosterone produced greater increases in muscle size and strength than were achieved with either intervention alone.
All three of these quotes and the results from the entire study itself, your own cited source for your argument, directly contradict your false claim.
The chart you pulled from the study also proves this, as the exercise group on the right have bigger black bars indicating more of everything than the no exercise group on the left (oversimplifying for clarity). Anyone who reads this study will see your claim has no merit.
Thinking or saying that steroids take the place of honest hard work to the point that you can do better on gear than by pushing hard without steroids is lazy and weak. Cope harder. As far as your original post…who cares. Put in the work yourself and stay in your own lane instead of worrying about other people like that.
To clarify for everyone else, I don’t have an issue with gear in and of itself as long as you’re honest about it and don’t talk about it like OP.
ok mr. scientist … now we have an online “Scientists” argueing and disproving clinical trials and medical studies as false….cause….. “ mr scientist knows!!”
damn.. when a stupid remark is made based on ego itself……
brah…the nih website itself clearly says that men who took testosterone but didn’t exercise gained more muscle and strength than men who exercised but didn’t take testosterone (placebo + exercise)
lolll , whether the study is short or long, the results are still scientifically valid aka size doesnt automatically negate credibility. Its like saying you cant trust a clinical study just because only 10 people who were shot in the head died…the outcome is clear regardless of sample size
Where does that state you can use test, not workout, and gain more muscle than someone natural working out alone? I don’t see that anywhere. Can you quote the specific part?
the below paragrahp shows that men who received test. without exercise gained muscle compared to placebo with no exercise… specifically, this part:
“Among the men in the no-exercise groups, those given testosterone had greater increases than those given placebo in muscle size in their arms (424 ± 104 vs. -81 ± 109 mm²) and legs (607 ± 123 vs. -131 ± 111 mm²) and greater increases in strength in the bench-press (9 ± 4 vs. -1 ± 1 kg) and squatting exercises (16 ± 4 vs. 3 ± 1 kg).”
