My Longevity Diet Changes/Mods

So I’m 30 and male and I recently made a huge overhaul on my diet. I removed a shit load of stuff because I want to look 20-25 at like…45-50. People say I still look 20/21 and I get carded for alcohol all the time.

These are the changes I’ve made to hopefully make my middle age like closer to 50 then 40.

  • Swapped caffeinated coffee for decaf (less cortisol release/stress hormone)
  • Stopped eating tuna completely (mercury)
  • Started drinking lots of super herbal tea with turmeric
  • started taking Vitamin D3
  • started taking Omega 3 Fish oil
  • started taking Multivitamin
  • Deleted most of the alcohol out of my diet and have it maybe 2x a month if that. Not daily or even weekly anymore.
  • Eat natural peanut butter and threw out Kraft
  • Stopped drinking juices and now drink Kombucha for gut health
  • wear a large brimmed hat, and bigger sunglasses with a scarf around my neck to protect my skin from harmful UVA rays in summer
  • Stopped eating out once every weekend
  • Stopped eating pre-cooked pizza (Dr Oeteker)

has anybody else made these changes to? let me know. how did it turn out for you?

I think these changes are fine but what does your actual diet and exercise look like?

lots of walking. diet is mostly fish and chicken. lots of apples. low sugar cereal in the morning. that’s about it. I look…almost pristine at 30. it’s as if I didn’t move past high school. it’s strange. I look like a kid

will the changes actually DO anything or are they just a waste of time?

I’m going to go with- those are good positive things to remain proactive about, but your age is your age, and your genes are your genes.

Stay up on the internal stuff. Average age of first heart attack is 45. An ounce of prevention is worth more than a lb. of cure in that regard, and many others.

yeah I know. im just an extremely young looking person for my age. I’ve seen people who are 22 who look 45 LMAO. the fuck did you manage that?

i’ve noticed that most white people usually age horribly. Asians much better and Black people the best. it’s politically incorrect to say but it’s the truth. there are a lot of White people who look near death at 50 it’s not pretty. Sun isn’t our friend.

What does your family history look like?

Heart failure? Diabetes? Cancer? Alcoholism? Stuff that is strongly tied to genetic predisposition should be a first concern.

there’s definitely Diabetes and Alcoholism. Cancer from smoking.

That would be my area of concern then.

This from a guy who had a heart attack at 47 in part because we had little to no family history to go on.

I have Irish heritage. That ethnic group has a tendency and genetic makeup for alcoholism along with Russians I believe.

I have diabetes and alcoholism. Cancer not sure.

:man_shrugging:t2:. I believe so too. But direct familial links are most important. A little bit of nature + a little bit of nurture can go a long way toward ones health or lack thereof.

that’s true. certain ethnic groups have certain diseases they are likely to get. I think African Americans are more prone to heart disease. Jews have Tay Sachs and others. Your ethnic makeup plays a major role as well. East Asians can’t tolerate alcohol either.

Out of curiosity, what would you have done differently?

its all about lowering the sugar and not eating out ASAP. it sucks but it is what it is I guess. I can’t treat myself anymore. the food here is toxic

:man_shrugging:t2:. Probably. I would have taken some of the warning signs much more seriously. And regular check ups would have been much more of a priority.

the North American diet is pure shit. certain “blue zones” in the world have people who live into their 95+ regularly. Japan, South America, Italian Island. take from them and you’ll be ok

Steak and eggs >

Congrats on your progress though

Blue Zones have been debunked or rather put into context
