That video actually reminded me of my old lifting partner’s squatting form, just owning the weight and moving like a machine. The best I witnessed from him was around 405x15.
There’s no “oof” in the sheikh’s incredible performance. There’s a certain amount of facial and body expression that usually accompanies getting heavy weight on and off of your back. It would also seem as if the sheikh has the sturdiest unbolted squat rack on wooden floors in the entire kingdom. Probably solid tungsten.
I sincerely hope the sheikh gets some help and overcomes whatever is compelling him to put this out there. Hopefully flats is right and he just doesn’t realize what his trainers are doing or basic physics.
Besides the Ministry soundtrack, which is one of my favorite 2 hit wonders of the 90’s, I love how Kroc’s doing it without a net and with a walk-out.
I like it in the same way that I like how I spent my childhood riding a bike far and wide without a helmet.
The 30 second rest would make it where I couldn’t do any two. And I believe that I could have easily done any one of those weights and reps during my 40’s.
I never trained more than 10 reps per set on any squat.
If any of these reps are remotely close to your max, IMO, the 30 second rest makes this impossible to complete.
Those of Tom Platz capability are the only ones, IMO, who have a chance completing this challenge.
I’m hearing a lot of jealousy. But I haven’t watched the video yet. Perhaps His Excellence is training hard, saying his prayers, taking his vitamins, and wondering what’cha gonna do with Hulkamania when those 24” pythons start running wild?
