“I bet you could kick my ass.”
I have heard this quite a few times, and still I never know how to react. I dont know if its a “thank you” situation as much of its a “Oh, I wont do that. Promise.”
It make me feel like I look scary, which is not at all what I want.
You don’t look scary at all. If dudes think you can their ass, based on your profile pic, you has some really pussy male friends.
Not that your physique is lacking, it’s just not intimidating.
It almost always occurs in the gym. I have some pretty special workouts. Unfortunately, the same people that give this compliment are the same people that will interrupt said workout to say it. boo.
It’s bad when this happens to guys too. I often get people at work etc that assume that I’m going to be aggressive, violent or stupid just because I’m big. I never want to think that I’m scaring people.
Obviously it goes against the general female archetype of smaller and weaker for a woman to be perceived as physically strong and powerful in proportion to men (not a bad thing in my opinion, considering most men are like limp rags), but it can still be very frustrating for a man who wants to be seen as an equal in a business setting when your peers say things like “I wouldn’t dare disagree with you on anything, you’d crush me!”. I usually just feel awkward and respond with “Err…no, I won’t”.
I can imagine that it would probably be a lot worse for a woman though.
That said, any of the T-Vixens are welcome to come and try to crush me. Do your worst I say!

My apologies for the previous typos I’m using a phone and auto correct sucks. Anyways, it sounds like they are trying to compliment your training in a self depreciating manner in an attempt to be charming and disarming. Then they are halfway hitting on you as a knight in instructional armor.

I couldnt tell you what their lifting looks like. I was only a “gym member” for about 9 months.
No one I work with says I could kick their ass…and they all lift heavy.
Just want to say that every Crossfit thread that comes up, I’m the one who points this out.
If you check out the Crossfit thread a few up from this "I Wonder if Crossfitters…" you will see I said this.
If I were a woman I wouldn’t think this would be a great compliment. Insinuating that we (me the woman and you the guy saying it) are actually going to get into a fist fight is weird enough, and then I’m going to defeat you at that. Just doesn’t do what it was intended.
Nards, I remember that quote as page 3 or 4 in that thread, some guy who did not read what you wrote actually said “she would kick my sorry ass”. I lol’ed.
