Seriously, go shave your face. Your scruff doesn’t look manly, cool, tough, or whatever it is you think it does. It doesn’t make you look older. It makes you look like a 13 year old who glued some loose pubes from the gym shower onto his face.
Well-trimmed, fully developed facial hair is different. Not against beards, just scruff.

are you directing this towards someone? Would you care to elaborate?

You should dictate not only your preferance with facial hair but also all hair. Should all men shave their head, grow pony tails, and I still don’t know what to do with my pubs? I mean there’s just so many options and so little real constructive criticism from other men. I’m so glad you’re here.
i work in a white collar setting, i have a beard, i have to keep it clean looking, so i make sure its trimmed a lined up. if you cant grow hair to fill out a proper beard, having random patches of facial hair is NOT a good idea.

quit using canned shave cream, get a badger brush and good shaving soap. Makes a world of difference. been wet shaving for three years, no problems with my face and it’s just cooler to go old school.

It might not make me look cool, manly or tough, but I like the way it looks on my face compared to a full beard or when cleanly shaven.

I agree…but then again, it’s a bit hard to be objective for us devils, eh?
