Congrats DD and flip
All you guys within just a few weeks huh? Must have been some kind of magical fertility moon or something lol.

Winter came early and you gotta stay warm somehow.
Just a big baby-crop on TN this time of year - lol. Big congrats all around. I’m sure I’ll be chiming in with baby-tales soon enough (7-8 weeks now, and man Cat’s getting B-I-G)
We had a crib delivered the other day… sh-t’s getting really real!

Dude for real though babies have weirdly strong grip for their size
Thanks everyone. It’s so true that God gives all things in their measure. It is strange that sleep deprivation and overwhelming contentment can co-exist so closely.
In addition to grip, her hammies are ridiculous. She pulls her feet into her poop while changing her and you really have to hold onto those legs I’m guessing that’s pretty typical for babies. And not to sound like I’m bragging too much (I admit to a little bias) but she’s 3 days old and she’s already flipping herself onto her belly, though it freaked me out in the middle of the night last night.
Mine hasn’t flipped over completely yet. I blame the square shoulders. She can get up on her side but cant quite go on over. We did get a smile that by week 3 though and she hasn’t quit yet. She actually kind of laughed at me a little the other day which I loved. Mama doing alright?
And to the earlier topic of breast feeding and baby weight, my wife was back in her pre pregnancy clothes after a month without the first bit of exercising. She was pretty fit beforehand but she gained nearly 40 lbs during pregnancy. The breastfeeding just made the weight fall off her. She still has a little extra bump right around the midsection that being slightly more stubborn but its slowly going away.
Big congratulations! Adorable. And it sounds like your wife is doing just great.
Congrats to all of you, Flip and DoubleDuce. It’s pretty sweet to hear a bunch of big guys sounding so smitten by those little things. So glad to hear that they arrived safe and sound. Look forward to seeing pics of baby Stu.
In other good news, I’m flying with my oldest 2,865 miles away tomorrow night. Seeing him off to college on the East Coast. I’m more than a little envious of all of you. I’m going to miss him terribly.
I can’t decide if I should
a) have another baby ![]()
b) adopt a 17-year-old foreign exchange student from China (go Arrested Development on it.)
c) get more cats.
My husband isn’t very excited about any of the above options.

Your son leaving for school must be terribly bittersweet.
Might I suggest an option d?

A loaner. Perfect!
Yes, it’s bittersweet for sure. On the one hand, he’s a great kid and I’m just so proud and excited for him. Also relieved that he isn’t staying home making a butt dent in my couch. On the other hand, it’s just awful to have him going so far away.
You haven’t had any leave home yet Doc?

Not yet, 9, 10, and 12. They’re at away-camp this week; the house is a little too quiet.

Got ya. Mine are 18, 16, and 11. The baby sister gets all choked up when we talk about him leaving. Sigh, I have good kids. BTW I have the new Misty Copeland book for the plane!
End threadjack. Back to more baby news.

I think you win. Triplets anyone?
They’re not just sisters, they’re like a really small gang.

We take the youngest 18 off tomorrow to college.
My wife will be crying a lot.
Sigh

Yup. I couldn’t imagine 2 at once. One is enough thank you.

Too precious!
Congrats to everybody!
