That’s it. Going to commit to running 531 for the next year. Starting off with good old BBB as a leader for a couple of cycles. Been a long time since I have done BBB sets.
Nice bike ride and that was one heck of a leg day. Man, some great squat sets followed by some very respectable BBB sets. I’m glad you can run that again. Pretty certain those days are over for me. Looks like a legit rafting trip as well. We did about a 1.5 hour cruise down the French Broad River on tubes a few weeks ago in the mountains and that was awesome. I’ve never really gotten into any serious rapids like you guys though. Looks awesome!
Thanks Trent. I think next year my big thing for the year is I am going to do a powerlifting meet. Never done one so it should be fun to try to train and prep for.
This river, the Nantahala is actually pretty tame. They allow 7 year olds on it.
Nice! I’ll have to send you the video of the strength competition they had at my gym this Saturday. I was going to go but decided against it because of the back problems I’ve been dealing with for most of this year… I look forward to seeing how you do in your meet!
Were you guys up in Bryson City? I went up there in highschool and rode in one of the single person rafts. Did just fine until the falls at the end. I went over the falls and ate (as a lot of people did). They had a few ropes going across that you could grab onto to pull yourself out. It was a lot of fun.

Yep, Bryson City. It is actually about 2.5 hours north of my house. Still close enough for a day trip.
Yeah, the falls part is easy to wipe out on and is where those action pics were taken.
We paid for a guided ride since I had my son, and in another boat my nephew. They both had a blast.
That’s it. 10 felt good. Left a rep in the hole. I am going to be doing alternate exercises on my BBB sets on BP and Deads. BP I like the BB Incline BP and for Deads I plan on using RDLs.
Excellent job today Shane! Like Sven said, that is some strong benching. I like the idea of doing different exercises for BBB. I did that for a while and now do alternate exercises for my main lifts too.
Great looking session Shane! Might as well go ahead and make those deads immensely harder by using double overhand grip. Always impressed with those DB rows as well. Way to get after it buddy!
